if youre set on the whole road trip thing, Z1 isnt a bad choice and could be a good experience and im sure youd learn a few things from them as well, either way i hope you have fun and enjoy the car, she is a strong car treat her right and she will treat you right.
My thoughts exactly about being good to her Thank you for the encouragement and the compliments!

Bellisima, i didn't know you were a girl. Props to you for having a Z, and wanting to mod, first of all! Most girls don't even know oil weight, let alone MODDING and willing to drive for a dyno tune, impressive.

My advice to you is, if your willing to make the drive, and sounds like you are...go for it! Z1 is a badass place. They will get you hooked. Dont listen to the better off with an email tune comments... nothing beats a good dyno/street tune with the tuner him self present. You can datalog and send files back and forth but this get to be a hassle sometimes. Also with having the car right there on the dyno a tuner can see if the motor is healthy too. Allot of tuners wont even tune a vehicle without some preliminary datalogging. Having to datalog with standalone software and asking for parameters via phone or email just isnt the same. I drove to california when i had my 5.0 coyote to be tuned by AED, just cause hes the best in the country and im an enthusiast like that. go for it...

Thank you so much for your encouragement! I've been prepping her for the tune too. Had trans fluid, break fluid, powersteering fluids all flushed, flushed the coolant system, replaced the serpentine belts, and added a set of brand new Hancook ventus v12s. She only has 31k miles on her, so I'm hoping for a good run! Any other comments or suggestions are always welcomed!

Thanks again!

Wow, nice Z. What wheels are those?

I'm interested to see the results of a Z1 tune on a revup motor with a handful of boltons. I'm in a similar situation but haven't pulled the trigger on a tune yet despite being ~45 minutes away from Z1. Please post up the results after its all said and done.

edit: P.S. - what kind of transmission do you have in there?

Your the kind of girl a car guy wants to end up with! Truly rare and impressive

I would also suggest a fresh pair of spark plugs. UPREV had me do this and i went ahead and did it...didnt understand really why until i started dabbing into tunning...i recommend it....that and maybe clean your MAF, and have clean air filter...but you sound like you have a good hold of things. Looking forward to your numbers

Thank you! The wheels are 19" Piaa Racing L'uomo Terzo.

Wow, 45 min away, I'm jealous! I will definitely post the results when I get them. It will be a while though... appointment isn't till September 20th.

It's a 6 speed manual transmission with the VQ35DE RevUp motor

Aww... Your making me blush, lol. Actually l aready had the mass airflow sensor cleaned when the car was in the shop for the fluid exchanges... forgot about that one. I didn't replace the air filter though cause it seemed pretty clean. Will Make sure to do that right before the tune!

Do you recommend any specific spark plugs or just replace with OEM ones?

The ones I recommend people and have been recommended to me by some top engine builders in the country for a variety of applications are Brisk racing spark plugs. The LGS ones. Bar none the best plug on the market. 13.99 a piece... go to briskracingDOTcom and do the part finder. I just checked it out and they have LGS for your year! Next in line id go NGK then denso....nothing really below those brands.

Just saw your drive a 6spd....wow.....

lol your too funny. ... This should throw you over the edge then...I actually look for people to romp while I'm driving. Unless it's a ZO6 Corvette it's game time! lol

Seriously though, thanks for the recommendation. I will look into those spark plugs right away!

nice to see your brave as well, but try to keep it off the public roads, i know, we all get caught up in the moment sometimes, but it can be dangerous.
and the last thing your loved ones want to hear is how you were street racing someone pulled out in front of you and you or all of you die from the collision..
just keep that in mind, be safe, no one wants to see you get hurt.

tracks are there for a reason and now-a-days they allow the public on them on test and tune nights, on average costs about $20 to race for the night, so its not an expensive thing.

just be safe, and dont get hurt.

edit- you seem really cool, and smart, dont let that all go to waste because you wanted to show someone up. YOU know your car is BAAAD, thats all that really matters!
dont let the fun turn into something dangerous

I agree 100% with EVERYTHING you said... there was a bit of sarcasm in what I said in the post your referring to I would never do anything that would put me or others in harms way.

Good lookin' out ****!

Ugh, I'm not sure what's worse, the shopping or the allergy shots...

Because, I actually want to go to z1. My appointment is on a Saturday and according to their website they usually have a ton of Z owners that come out and mingle and just have a good time. It just sounds like fun...and I also have the peace of mind of knowing that my car will be in good hands, so why not?
