Default BOlt on Tuned De close to a Stock HR?

Hey guys did a search couldn't really find the answer.

Would a DE 350 with Motor-dyne spacer, Full Exhaust, Nismo CIA, and a UpRev Osiris Tune be about equal in speed to a stock HR??

Yes I had already seen most of those vids just was seeing if anyone had first hand exp.. . From the first vid the modded/tuned DE seems very close with a stock HR with the HR just edging it out. Stock for Stock the HR is quite a bit more powerful.....Just got a good deal on a 04 350z and its my first sports car since I was 24 (Dodge Stealth TT) Im 40 now and been driving a Kia Sportage and PT Cruiser (so anything is fast to me) lol Seems like i should get those mods done though so I can at least stay neck and neck with a stock HR....

Yes, to stock hr. You should exceed it. I have found my DE to be pretty competitive. I might've had a few spirited runs vs. VHR g37 amongst others in the past.

Default after six years of 350z drag racing

I owned a 2004 350z for about one year. I also had an 08z for 5 years.

STOCK 2004 with Nitto NT555R on stock wheels in the back. With only the change of tires I was doing 13.7's/13.8's at 99 mph.

My 08 had M/T ET street radials drag tires. The first drag testing of that car was in Florida & it went 13'3's/13/4's mph ??? don't remember.

Now as far as a DE bolted 350z VS a stock HR, in over 5 years of racing at 3 N.Y.S. tracks & 1 Florida track, I don't remember seeing ONE DE bolt on Z break 14 seconds. What can I say I think the best I've seen was 14.1's ..........

Anyway from owning a De & an HR, in STOCK form my HR was 1/2 a second .5 quicker than my STOCK DE.......

I ran a 14 flat @ 100mph with stock tires open diff with a 2.2 60ft... With slicks and quaife LSD I could swing a mid 13 at best

I'm sure there are quicker DE's because I see them on the top 25 list but your time is about as quick as I've seen in the N.Y/N.J. area.

Slicks & LSD (why Quife?) would definitely help BUT ONLY if you also got 3:90 or 4:08 gears. That's because without the gears your car with slicks would bog (sp?) at the start & you might even get a slower ET.

You must be misinformed... Slicks will not "bog" my car but will take more of an aggressive launch to fully utilize them... And gearing only increases acceleration only in 1 st gear and helps not neccistating another shift right near the end of the track.... Most people that have gears actually experience slower time due to more shifting and less traction on the street.

I doubt he's misinformed. Check the 1/4 mile time thread. Having ran the quickest bolt on time of like 12.4 on the website in his lightly bolted hr....he's far from inexperienced. Gearing does not only increase acceleration in first. For example, 4.08 gears shorten each gear by around 15 %. So based on that the car should accelerate 15% quicker through each gear. You are correct about more shifting but we can easily raise the rev limit in our cars.

Acceleration only increases in 1st... All the other gears are tq multipliers... It's physics... Just cause you run a fast time doesn't mean you know **** about cars... Read the 408 great sticky thread you will find that information

I own a full bolt on 2004 350z and a 07 G35 sedan. My Z ran 13.8 stock and 13.1 with mods. My G ran 13.4 stock and I'll find out what it runs with mods tomorrow hopefully.

Is that in an auto or manual car?
I was hoping once I get my car tuned in my auto 03 I could get a 12.9, but I guess not
