Need some opinions/options on tuning
Whats up guys.. installed my test pipes 2 days ago and noticed a loss in lower end power (im assuming because its running lean now) i generally would just run it lean for a bit until i got around to tuning it but im also instill my wet kit this weekend and know that can also cause it to run lean so those 2 together could be a bad combo. that being said i believe i should tune it asap (unless you guys think it will be okay for a little while i wont be spraying alot) but i dont have 500-700 to drop on osiris at the moment.. any body know of any other options for tuning thT may be a little more affordable and help me get my lower end back? i was considering running a cobb AP and data loggig it and sending it to a tuner but i cant find an AP (2007 HR) anynody have any ideas?

what everyone said...you will not gain bottom end with test pipes...test pipes are for high-rpm gains...OEM cats do just fine flowing 2000rpms worth of exhaust.
and if a $700 tune is too steep of a hill to hike to get your car running right heaven help if you fork-up your block with that wet kit!

Me, i rather do it right and do it right the first time. If i was going to blow an engine, itll be 800hp+ on a dyno, not because i was too cheap to spend 700 on a tune and have to get towed home from walmart.

If A/F was the only thing that matters, no one would ever build their blocks. But its your car do as you wish.

I'm not throwing stones (yet) but from where I'm sitting it sounds like you are being 'penny wise, pound-foolish'...
you're just dropped (insert dollar amount here) for pipes and a wet kit...but you don't want to spend the $1000 for osiris/dyno tune but would look into a ??$300-$500?? on an access port to get by with an etune(not to mentioned that cost) simply as a temp fix
and then what? spend the $1000 to get osiris and get it tuned correctly?
how are you 'closely monitoring' your AFRs now? and what are you doing to modify said AFRs when you go lean or rich? Wait for the OEM widebands to catch it?
Theres nothing wrong with not having the money right now, we get it, there are other priorities in life, but just save up to do it right...how quickly can you save $1000?
forget that - just save up the money to get the tune done right, one and done - that's what I'm saying and I think that's what Turboed350z is getting at ... but what do we know?

Why not just NOT install the kit until you get enough for a tune? Youre willing to spend 500 and 1000 later instead of just spending of just waitig a bit long and spending 1000 for a proper tune?
Its not like you HAVE to have the kit installed and spray the day you get it.
But you know, youre right im not answering your original question because i dont want to be blame when your engine blows...
