Default Strange one help!

Full bolted and tuned 03 z, car was runing great except for crappy 6spd. Found a used one for 500 bucks and shop install it along with urethane diff bushing, new trans is butter. NOW the issue is I CANNOT full throttle it! Hits 3200 Rpm and goes into what sounds like rev limiter.,it dies have launch. Control that just had stopped working about a week ago but car ran great other than that. No CEL no nada runs fine other than that. IDEAS anyone seem like something isn't connected but took back to shop and double checked all is good???? HELP

You or anyone pull codes?

Sounds like classic limp mode - although 3200 ceiling sounds a little high for that.

My bad yes I pulled codes with my scanner, it's the best one of the Actaeon scanners. And my shop buddy tested it with his snap on NADA. What in the transmission swap could have caused this ? Also certain times above 3200 usually in 3rd I can full throttle it, and here and there but in 1st and 2nd NOPE won't go. Car runs fien other than that?

Hmmmmm, no codes?

Still could possibly (not likely but doesn't hurt to look) be a wire or sensor detached or knocked around. Crank position sensor, as I recall, is down there somewhere, as are O2s and with tranny removal along with exhaust sys handling....

But without any codes (or putting hands on) to steer you, sorry, this is purely speculation.

Anyone else? I got nothing.

Did you disconnect your negative battery terminal during the transmission swap?

No cable was disconnected, only thing that was done was the trans swap. I've read about the flywheel having to be installed a specific way BUT the guy at the shop told me all that was done was in and out, the clutch and flywheel we never removed...... so freaking clueless what the heck it could be. Only thing I think may be the issue is the crank sensor. It's a brand new hitachi crank a swapped and cleaned where the sensor sits. He said the dirt ect could have placed it further away from flywheel. No clue it's fustrating the car was running perfect until the swap! I hVe no idea what it could be.

So the mystery was finally solved! I’m not sure how this affects it but I had been noticing that the issue wouldn’t happen every time. Then one day I noticed that I still had some foot pressure on the clutch pedal. To confirm I made sure I had pedal completely free and it wouldn’t do it?? To a look down there and there is a cruise control switch..... so in other words the switch has to be on with pedal fully realeasd
and no more issue... what/how is this connected to to the tune??i imagine it has something to do with launch control/ flat foot shifting, but I’m not certain. I got a new switch I’ll get around to putting in to see if it makes a diff. If the switch isn’t engaged it hits what seems like a 3200 rev limit. Wierd thing is I didn’t have this issue until the new trans was swapped in.....
