More Uprev Issues
(Sigh...)
I made an earlier the read about my shop guy that has my car and dongle with an ECU connection issue that was diagnosed with James from Uprev support. Ok fine, take another 250 dollars for a new cable, Uprev.
Now that my tuner tries again to try to tune my car, now he cannot access the Rom files I made for the car. Mind you, I have the Tuner version upgrade that I bought 2 YEARS AGO, worked fine for two years tuning my car on my own and was fine before I left on deployment in Feb. Now my shop emails me this as they have been communicating with them on my behalf:
"In the email from UpRev they are telling us that:
This is not a tuner cable. This is meant for data logging, flash a provided tune file, and check engine codes. It is not capable of editing tunes.
Up above is what they emailed us. I am not sure if there was a mix up with the cable but they are saying its not a tuner cable. Is there any way you could contact them to review the order you purchased to make sure it was correct? Or to see if there is any way they can unlock it for you?"
This really pissed me off more. I've had my tuner version for years now, and this is the same dongle I had purchased previously, same style and everything. So I sent an email directly to Uprev and asked them why this is happening. I provided proof of purchase of my Tuner add on and other purchases in the email. I am hoping this issue is a quick fix but idk what else they need from me. Was there an update that prevents old roms from being opened or do I need the shop to submit a license report for me? I am really at a loss and I what is worse is that I am not stateside atm to troubleshoot this myself. Just a really annoying state of affairs that prevents my car to be finished.

Sounds like there was just a mix up with the shipping guy. What you ordered was a basic interface and they were supposed to upgrade it to tuner version for free for warranty, but he didn't get the memo and you got sent a basic interface. Easy fix, just get a license report and send it to James and he will fix it. I had the same exact thing happen once.
