ST is fine by me, though of course, they typically have different names in the US!

Was thinking about saving a few pennies for upgrades later (and to keep the bank manager from coming round and asking questions).

I found a dealer (uk) on the net today who is taking pre-orders... of course I've sent a few emails their way already... will contact my local and if they don't play, then I'll be placing an order, probably next month.

 

RICHZ - Just be careful out there, of course they'll take pre-orders they've bagged a sale. But it's your money

 

fair point... it's a little extravagent for me... first brand new car (only third overall) and it stacks up nicely.

ok guyz...u can see me screen name........I own a 7mth old Mercedes Benz C230K (2.3 L supercharged)sport coupe.....AMG styled......black tinted....fully loaded......but....well it aint ever gonnah be as quick as a Nissan 350Z....not wi out spendin shed loadz on modz..........thoze o ya th@ av seen a 350Z in da flesh.....driven 1....whattah ya fink...build quality?...per4mance?....handlin?.....pride o ownership?......on par wi da Merc?

Not impressed by the MB dealers, so moving on... + the wife wants the Merc. so decision made... if only Nissan could pull there fingers out & release the Z... but there again we will get the new improved 2004 model. Thanks USA for doing the de-bugging

 

yeah i kno wot u mean bout Merc dealerz...still...good & bad in all sortz i spose....perhapz a Nissan dealer'd trreat me better....being towardz top o THIER food chain...as opposed 2 being a mere "C" class owner....even if fully spec'd up...it aint an inexpensive car.............I am as name says...only curious...but...well the Z has true coupe sexyness+speed
BTW Veilside....has ur C230k got a notchy manual gear change (particulrly 1st=2nd?)ruinz da fluidity o my enjoyment

I spoke to th every helpful chap at the Bristol Nissan garage and he said a basic flyer has been put together with an outline of the spect and assured me the price would be £26k..!!!! I said right I'll have one and he said he would put th einfo in the post but alas I'm still camped out on the front lawn waiting for th epostman...its been 3 days now..!! obviously not 1st class

I took the plunge being to impatient for the UK cars and purchased a T spec 350z, new from Charlesworths at Donnington

Cons:

Jap sat nav is useless
Manual is unintelligable (downloaded us version from net)
No manufacurers warranty(got a 3 yr warranty thrown into deal)
insurance(sod it it will be high for the uk cars as well)
some little **** keyed it last night
has 'fairlady' on the boot lid (hairdryer to that shortly)
limited to 112mph(will have it delimited when engine run in a bit)

Pros:

Got the car outside my house and its mine

Last i heard the uk versions are now due in 2004 in limited numbers, recommend taking the plunge!!

Can u tell me more about the VX-Rom, including cost.

I drove a ST on 18 inch rims before I bought mine, and frankly it did not ride or handle as well.

All in all it is a very well sorted car in my opinion, the only thing that as ever kept me out of my Integrale!!

I'm soo envious I've considered the leap to an import but wasn't sure on the warranty etc.....and the sting for insurance?

I take it you must be in the North of the country, I've seen an orange 350Z in Bristol and it looked the dogs, I'm even thinking of getting that color now I've seen one but I still like Silerstone....more classic

What is the reported 0-60 dash, the mag reports seem a bit wishy-woshy saying under 6 seconds..!!!!
I bet you cant wait to get the limiter removed even though with conditions permitting we can go as fast as 70...;-)

I've heard 5.5 0-60 in a few places, but no definites yet.
