Default Welcome to the UK Forum

I know we don't have the Z until October 2003 (allegedly), but if you are as Z-crazy as I am you are most probably checking the board... So hi.

If you are UK based - this is the place to be for the future.

Any snippets of info are much appreciated with regards the launch.

It would appear that Nissan UK have told dealers that they should not be accepting deposits at this stage!! Deposits should only be taken once the specifications & model range details have been finalised. The motto as always - "The money is better in your bank, than someone else's"

Any info/news? Please post

Same problems as us all....has any one managed to get a dealer who can HELP....or is it just Nissan UK missing a great marketing opportunity?

The dealer focus is on the Micra launch - early 2003. Once this is out of the way, I think they will refocus their attentions...

Nissan UK Head Office just put you in a holding pattern.
Dealer quality varies - some want to rip your arm off for a £1k deposit (kept in their bank - Nissan are not taking deposits -hence my first comment) - others are just gathering names for later.

What have you found? Have you parted with any cash?

Thanks for the tip...

... but the motto of the story is resale, resale, resale (not that I will be looking to sell on, but import value has got to plummet on UK release?)

I think I'll hang out for the UK models rather than a japanese import - who knows they may have even sussed out a good stereo fix by then

The only UK import prices that have been posted are by Prospec Motorsport or New Era Imports (now sold)...

... Check out their websites for more info!

Thanks Steven, but I can't find any car info on that site. The links for showroom and car profiles don't go anywhere.

edit: opened up the frames as their own pages and managed to see the showroom page, but those sub-menus don't show up on the main screen and most people won't know how (or won't bother spending the time) to do what I did. I'm using IE 5 on Mac OSX.

For anyone who's interested, prices are around £30k for top spec Z's at this place. I think I can wait 10 months...

Default Importing

Hi UK guys!

I'm new here.
Nice to meet you.
By the way, Prospec Motorsport Ltd is my company.
Because of the Nissan's strict controll for grey exporting of 350Z, we have to register the car once in Japan before shipping.
In such a situation, the price is a bit high.
But recently, we have started importing very low mileage 350Zs.
It is around 200km to 2000km.
The Version ST price is 31,000 pounds OTR.
And we constantly have "ready to ship" car in Japan.
So please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to import one.
Many thanks.

Yours,
Shin

Default Wicked Kit

Just to update everyone - I took a trip up to Wicked Kit's showroom last week and got to test drive a lovely 'version T' Silverstone Z. They are lovely folks and I had a fantastic afternoon. I ended up sinking my money into a 1966 Aston Martin DB6 instead , but I *will* be ordering a Z some time late this year or early next year, when they're available used. I really don't think any of you will be disappointed when you finally get to drive one of these beauties.

girlracer - Lovely classic, just be careful of those repair bills, they can hurt £££££! Enjoy the car though, post some pics to make us all envious.

Shin - Can you get hold of all the aftermarket JDM parts for the Fairlady Z? Can you also get hold of JDM stereos, in particular the Sony WX-7700MDX...? & can you alter the frequency ranges to suit the UK market?

Thanx

veilside z,

Thank you for your phone call this afternoon.
I will get back to you soon with quote.
Further, for the UK guys, we can offer £30,900 for Version ST.
We are holding several stock Version STs in Japan.
It will take 2.5 month delivery.

Yours,
Shin

I've been harranging Nissan UK and my local dealership in NE Hampshire, to no avail. I got a list of all the UK dealers last week from Nissan UK, with instructions to wait 3-4 months before making further enquries about the Z.

I'm gutted that the Americans got it before us... and even more gutted that my project in the US finished just before the Z came out

Import or wait, seems to be the only option...

...but look at it this way
- any niggles should be ironed out in the 2004 model year
- all the tuning kit will be tested
- you have time to save up for the extras

can't deny that it'll be nice to have a car that's got the bugs ironed out... lovely. and there's all those Japanese places doing Performance kits, etc. for it and body kits... had a look at some nice ones on the web at home last night... very impressed. some were a little too "Fast & the Furious" for my liking, but excellent looking bits of kit..

saying that though, definitely going to run it on the default setup for a while (at the very least)... I'm thinking about going for the 'S' model

Default ST

According to my Nissan dealer (who has been fantastic might I add), the UK is probably set to get just one model, which will be along the lines of the ST version (ie: sports stuff and luxury stuff together).

Although of course all that could change nearer the time.
