Thumbs up New Magazine Reviews

So, the magazines are now catching on with the Z. The current issue (12 February 2003) of Autocar has a 3-way comparison of the Porsche Boxter, the Audi TT V6 and the 350Z. The Z doesn't win unfortunately, but gets positive raves in all the right places.

Also review in CAR magazine (March 2003) against an RX-8...

...plus an interesting article on Carlos Ghosn - (increase in Nissan revenues of 84% in the 6 months to October / 10.6% operating margin - one of the best in the industry, ahead of Mercedes Benz & BMW) V. impressive

Quote "The 350Z has what feels like massive grip and performance after the relatively dainty, rolly RX-8"

Hi Giles,

Seeing as we've got a few months to wait before we even get a sniff of the Z, I noticed you are sporting a Merc C class Coupe....What do you recon on it? I nearly bought the Evo Pan Diesel on import...I know this is all slightly off topic but its better than 'I spy' and my thumbs are numb..

Muchas,

Nice ride really, but didn't bother with the Evo Pack.

Panoramic Glass Roof is great (would like one on the Z, but no chance by the sounds of things) & went with aftermarket tints all round, which works great with the Quartz (Cream) interior. Exterior is Tanzanite Blue (Navy/Purple Pearl)

Went tiptronic auto also, which makes you really lazy.

MB dealers stink though (maybe because it's not an SL, but I've heard a lot of similar comments from other owners).

Originally I was looking to party things up a bit with some Brabus goodies - but they cost the earth in the UK & are not that much cheaper direct from Germany.

Won't be getting rid of it though, the wife has her eyes on it

Give one a try though - 200K or 230K, don't bother with the 180

Giles,

Nice colour, I wanted the blue or the black..friends were teasing me saying it looked like a Toyota Corola, but what do they know in there common beemers.

I know exactly what you mean about the MB dealers, I'm a young looking chap, not the usual CLK (at the time) driver, old with a flat cap sporting an electric golf cart....so when I had dealings with them they didn't give me the time of day, first they thought I was dropping it off for someone then tried telling me it was an import and didn't want to deal with it..!!!! Thats why I was considering buying a cheaper import if that was the 'after care' I was going to get from a UK car....it all left a bad taste in my mouth and so put me off.......

I hope Nissan dealers can come up trumps with a touch after sales that will but the big boys to shame...but it just doesn't seem right the chaps working on all those Micras one minute and then tinkering around with a screwdriver on the 350Z the next..!!! or am I just looking into things a tad to much..!!

Magzine reviews everywhere now.......hurry up Nissan get that dash sorted and start shipping.

Laterz

Default Autocar Magazine

I would imagine this to be an extremely interesting article. Unfortunately we don't get that magazine here in Australia. I was wondering whether you could possibly scan this particular article and attach it to this thread or email it to me (I pick my 350Z in 2 days time) and as such all of these sorts of articles I find very interesting.

Appreciate you assistance.

Thumbs up

EVO tested a Right Hand Drive Z in their "Car Of The Year" Issue Jan 03 .....they got it from a dealer [www.wickedkit.com].

Check out the website...he can supply a Z straight-away apparantly [but it will cost a bit more]. Theres also an interesting summary of the Z and a link to the EVO review on the site. Worth a visit.

They reviewed it assuming that the car will be £36000.
It only comes 8th out of 12 top cars....but they couldnt really test it properly cos it wasn't yet run in properly.

It describes it as "Excitingly different...almost exotic..."

In the summary section it says "the Nissan feels nothing like a TT....and thats not the only good news.....feels tidy and entertaining in a way that the Audi TT can only dream......."

Sorted.
