Question retuning import radio??

Just got a fairlady import with the full ST pack, the problem is that the FM band on the radio only goes up to 89.0?? is it possible to get it changed so i can listen to uk station, or does the unit need replacing??

The Sat Nav and TV is also in Japanese, can this be changed??

My Impreza has a "channel expander" on it which shifts all the radio frequencies by 10MHz, so, for example, when it shows 90MHz it's actually receiving 100MHz.

Do a Google for "band expander" to find things like this and this.

Try posting on www.350zuk.com. There is a little more activity there, though most of them will probably want a go in your new car. I have a friend in Cyprus who has had his JDM spec import (not a Z) converted to UK spec frequencies, I'll ask next time I'm on the phone.

All you should need is a new Crystal for the radio tuner. I think it costs about £3, just replace the one you have and you're away.

Sorry I can't help with where to get one, but I know the folks down at Nissan Guildford have bought the self-same crystal replacement and they should be able to help you (if they want to)... otherwise, Radioshack or something???

Try doing a search for an "FM modulator" that will help you shift frequencies - your display will still show the original frequency though.

I think you're stiffed with the Sat Nav though, talk to Clarion in the UK - they're the OEM supplier through their CarWings brand for the JDM
