hey guys, i am new to the forums, but this is what i am trying to do.

This is basically a poll, i am interested in getting together a Z meet for all of us; but i thouught i would throw in a few twists. First i am going to spread it over to some camaro forums and a few good buddies of mine and get many different cars involved.

1st I would think that this meet would be well handled at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis. so we would have a place to race if we so desired and it would be a good track and safe enviroment.

2nd (if this is a go) i would be contacting many different autosports companys and seeing if i could get their interest in setting up booths or bringing out a car or something. (good chance for those of us that want to pick up a sponsor)

3rd AND MOST IMPORTANT! It would be a charity event, the charity that i am thinking of is Kids Can, or at least i think that is the name of it, i donated my 89 camaro to them, they take old used cars and teach kids how to work on them, these kids are from not the greastest of living enviroments have dropped out of school etc.


Basically this is just an idea at this point i thought about a few days ago. if i can get enough support behind it, i would be more than happy to actually start working on it, we would have media coverage and everything. i think we could all have fun, maybe get a sponsor or 2, and really really help out our state.

ok well since we are getting some serious interest it seems i am going to start working on it, i will need proof of the backing for it though so i need everyone to get everyone that wants to do this to start saying so on this thread we need a serious following for this event if we want to make it happen

 

Just letting you know in advance - don't expect too much from the DFW Z crowd. They don't do much of racing (any sort) so the racing isn't much of an incentive. They think Ennis is too far, so many, if not all, will not even think twice about going. They don't even participate in a dyno day, because they can't spend 30-50 bucks.

 

i did not ask for negativity sir! and i would hate for the Z crowd to be shown up by the Camaro, Chevelle and Supra crowds that have already commited to the event! positive thinking only please.

 

and a good start for allowing me to get into contact with everyone is, everyone that is interested post that you are and post your email address, or email me so that way i can get a newsletter started

 

and i have a question for the adimn, is there anyway that you could change the title of this thread? i think it will make many people think that the event has already passed and thus people wont even know what we are trying to do here

 

quick update, Working on a primary sponsor for the event, my gut tells me it will come through and we will be well on our way to having a successful meet. I need more people to email me if you guys want in a news letter for this.

There are 3 people (including myself) that are devoting themselves entirely to having this idea come to be. other than the Corvette club and Rice Killers, Dallas doesn't have much of an organized auto sports culture. lets start one with this guys.

I just got off the phone with the Dallas CAN academy, they are fully onboard and are offering any support that we need in getting this event going, so woohoo for that

still waiting to hear from the Texas motorplex, i will let you know as soon as i do, and by then i should have a date as well.

 

ok your chance to vote, at the event, my group, SnS Racing, will be holding a bracket race, there will be an admission fee, which a good bit will go to the charity and whats left will go as a cash prize to first place. (we plan on having prizes for every single contestant)

so that being said, how much would you pay? keep in mind we want to have a good cash prize and a good donation at the same time, so what do yal think?


and any vendors that happen to be reading this thread, i have got alot of prizes to hunt down lol if you would be interested in having your company name appear in conjunction with this event, let me know.

i am working my *** off to get this set up and pretty much setting it up so people will get free stuff, get to see all sorts of crazy cars, get food, race, and have a fun time and i cant get any feed back?

please dont tell me this is how the DFW Z crowd is, comon! show some support for this, the more support that exists, the more and better prizes that there would be.

i know we don't all have everything that we could possibly want when it comes to our cars or tools

 

i live in austin---wouldn't mid driving mine up for it. hopefull it is atleast a couple weeks away though. just bought my z in california and am having it shipped to austin.
