Default OKC roadcourse event! May 18th 8am

Greetings all once again!

I have also secured 3 dates this summer for a "OKZCC driver's education" event hosted at the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Dept driver training facility in Midwest City. Here's a copy of the info I posted for the OKZCC. Again, membership is not required to attend, and slots are limited, so I encourage you to make arrangements with me if you want to secure a slot otherwise it will be first come first serve starting at 8am.
***********

Ok folks, as I mentioned a while back, I have reserved the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Dept driver training track for our use this summer on 3 dates.

Sunday, May 18--8AM
Sunday, July 20--8AM
Sunday, Sept 7--8AM

The cost will be $25 per car. There is a maximum of 25 slots available.

This track is a lot of fun and is fast enough to let you explore the capabilites of your Z but is not fast enough to be dangerous or risky. Everyone is encouraged to attend and Z club membership is not required, as the ultimate goal is to have fun on Sunday morning in our cars.

Here's a bird's eye view of the track.

I plan to open the gate up at 8 AM and depending on the size of the group we will likely wrap up the lapping around 11AM-1PM. You will need to bring a helmet, and I highly recommend checking your brake pads and changing if necessary, flushing your brake fluid and your engine coolant PRIOR to arriving. There will not be an area for doing this on location. I also recommend bringing along some lawn chairs, umbrellas/tents, and maybe a cooler with some snacks and drinks (absolutely no alcohol). There are restroom facilities a short walk from the track, but aside from that the venue is very spartan, if you bring nothing you will be sitting either in your car or on the tarmac, which will suck come July.

EDIT: To reserve a place in these events, please send me a message through this forum (or email me directly if you already have my address). Be sure to include your name, type of car, and date(s) for which you wish to attend. The $25 fee can be paid at the event. Please, the slots are limited to 25 total so only contact me if you are sure you can attend and I will keep a slot for you, otherwise it is a 1st come 1st serve basis.
***********

This is an unbelievable opportunity to get a driving experience that is basically a hybrid of Hallett and autoX. An entire morning of it for $25!!

Any takers?

This looks really cool, obviously the May date doesn't work because it is during Zdayz, but I may be interested in making both the July and September dates. Its only a 300mi drive from here.

I am making arrangements for this spring's Z car show, this week, stay tuned, or come by our events/meetings to find out more. With a little luck, this year's show will include a big surprise for all attendees.

Just a friendly reminder guys to get in touch with me if you want to have a guaranteed spot on the 18th. I have opened this event up to everyone, the Porsche Club, the Mustang Club, S2000 club, Subaru Club, BMW Club, literally everyone I have come across, and the event will be limited to 25 slots.

I got you down Roast, don't worry.

Once they've uploaded, I'll post up some pics/vids from today's track event with the Mustang Club. It was a great time out there. The 18th is going to be a blast.

Tell him to come on out, he'll LOVE it. Have him email me at ljs96076@yahoo.com with his name, contact #, and make/model if he plans on attending and I will hold him a slot. These events are open to anyone until they become popular enough with Z Club members that we need to change it.

Pics from yesterday.....say what you want about Mustangs, but some of these were very fast cars around the track. In fact the fastest lap time was not put up by the 996 turbo, but the white GT500. With yours truly right behind in #3

Short vids (poor quality)

lookin' good... very nice #3 finish

I gave my friend brendan all of the details... he said he would like to go but wouldn't know for sure if he could make it until later... so I told him to hold off emailing you unless he knew for sure he could go....

My helmet came in today... and I got two front tires delivered yesterday... I'll get them mounted and balanced this weekend... and then hopefully an alignment....

I don't see an edit option but I hope everyone sees this...

****This event is postponed until June 22nd***********
Unfortunately the track will be under maintenance and somehow they managed to forget to notify us. The 22nd is a secured date and is also a sunday. If there is a silver lining, I guess it will be that we may get to play on a fresh surface. I apologize for the confusion and late news, you can't imagine the level of frustration I swallowed when I learned of it this morning on the telephone just 3 days prior.
