I hope things work out for your friend. Keep in mind that things start to loosen up as the event gets close. People want to fill in open spots and so on. I wouldn't wait until the last minute though.

^ Your not out. At worst just further away. Last year we stayed at the Microtel in Robbinsville, NC about 20min away. Other Z guys were there also. Or keep checking at Fontana for openings.
Sounds like they have openings that are not at the reduced event rate from reading other posts. In this economy its alot to spend for a car event. $300-400 for lodging + food, gas & entry fees. For most this is not a short distance. Last time I checked, I think its a 20 hr drive.
Easily spend a grand on a car show weekend.

Yea calling is the best thing to do they locked up a bunch of spots for just us. And you only have to put a deposit. I put $99 down and have to pay the other $250 when I get there. I think even the cabin is not a bad price if you find someone to split it with would proabably be less then the lodge. My friend wasn't definite that was the only reason I wanted to get the lodge.
We need more Nismos!!!! especially one who's almost my assembly line brother. lol

I think that the confusion comes from the fact that there are different places to stay in fontana village. People will post that the cabins are full, or the main lodge is full, and those that haven't been before don't understand that is only a portion of the "campus". The earlier you call, the better spot/rate you get - so folks aren't saying the whole thing is sold out... Just a certain building or area. If you are interested in a room, don't go pdf of what you read here... Go ahead and call fontana.
ZdayZ has some of the coolest cars in their car show. (Nissan brought out a GT-R proto one year. -before they were even on the dealer lots)
But ZdayZ is so much more than a car show. It's a family reunion with great people. And then there's the driving.....
The road(s) are legendary.

this^ it's way more than just a "car show". it's pretty much the most fun you can have with your pants on... then again, once the celebrations start, it seems to be a clothing optional kind of thing lol
