My 350Z is entered in the Touring 3 (T3) class at Road Atlanta for this Atlanta Region SCCA fall road racing classic. After a 1,100 mile tow from Colorado, practice is scheduled for Thursday afternoon (10/30/14). Qualifying is bright and early on Friday (10/31), with two sessions at 8 am and 1 pm EST. T3 will be part of the first race out the gate (combined with several other classes) on Saturday (11/1/14) at 8:30 am. If any my350Z members want to attend, PM me and I can add a few people to my crew list for free admission.

It's been over 20 years since I last raced at Road Atlanta, back when the SCCA held the Runoffs there. The track has changed quite a bit, with the back straight and the infamous "dip" being deleted. I loved driving that part of the track, but look forward to learning the new chicane before the bridge. Hope to bring back an ARRC title for Nissan this year.

 

Glad to report I won my class at the ARRC and finished sixth overall in a mixed run group. Road Atlanta has changed a lot in 20 years, so I had to throw out a lot of my driving notes. But it remains one of America's great road racing facilities and it was a pleasure to race there!
