Got one of those. Have yet to change the oil, but I'm kind of looking forward to how it works out.

if the door were hinged it would be better, once you take out the second bolt on the door, it usually falls

If the door hinged it would just be in the way, We designed so you can simply remove it and get it 100% out of your way.

that is true, didnt really think of that.....

or you could hinge it, and place a built in nut where you would make it go 180 degrees and use one of the existing bolts holes to bolt it up out of the way

I love mine too. I also have thought about how hinges would have helped every time it falls off after unscrewing. But then I also thought hinging would not be a good idea because there is the possibility that you would forget to close it. Think about all the time people drive with their gas lid open.

I changed my oil about 10 times with it and its awesome. I never drop the door cause I know its not hinged. I finger loose the bolt the rest of the way and just grab the door and toss it aside. Change the oil in less than 20 min with that easy design. Even the oil filter leaks through the hole so there is no mess on the floor. My garage floor is spotless

I just take the entire plate off when I change the oil. Easy.
