rx8 vs z
i guess the main factor is driver...
I think the z and rx8 are totally different vehicles.
one has low hp good handling
one has high tq and decent handling
all in all
money spent into car modifcations can change that vehicle's overall handling characteristics...

in the video they called it the touring model. I cant trust that show, saying it cost 7k over the base model just to get 18's Theyre so f-ing retarded!
It also added vdc, brembos, 18's, leather seats and a lsd and a premium sound system.
that is if they actually drove a touring and not a track or performance model...
but more importantly, stock clear reflectors?

I have also seen other online reviews pitting the 350z vs the rx-8 on a track, and the rx-8 did not even have a prayer.
This video was definitely biased.

when it comes down to it, I really love the knowing that my money was spent on that moment I step in the garage every morning and think "that's a really pretty car; and it goes like hell"

on many different occaisions driving up some twisties whether it being on malibu or mountain roads, swapping cars with my cousin (z owner) my 8 always had better entrance speed coming into a bend, thats where I was able to pull away (vice versa) but where the Z always catches up is coming out of the turn. I guess torque rules all...

nice to see you roaming the z site. its pimpindarx8
for everyone else the rx8 always wins in all those camparisons because it has better ride quality and more comfy in the inside and the 4 seats. But i went from rx8-Z so that should say it all.
14.8 for the z??? i didnt know my grandma was driving.
15.2 for the rx??? maybe with twins.
this comparison was funded by mazda. the rx8 should be compared to my old 2000 celica gts and not even be mentioned in the same sentence as the 350z. harsh, but true.

FYI, Many rx8 owners could really care less what an 8 can do in the 1/4 mile, most of them track their cars, solo I solo II, track day events etc and they almost always do very well. I mean, if 8 out of 10 magazines that do comparisons vs. a 350z are wrong then you tell me whats right.
Very true. The 8 was great on the twisties!!! i cant take the z into turns as fast as i would with the 8. Plus the z can hit 12's easier but for an 8 to that with less hp you have to give it credit where its deserved.
to each his own. i prefer something with more then 150lb.ft of torque. my bicycle can take corners great, but that wont be any good if there is no speed.
magazines side with whomever pays them the most. thats all that needs to be said about that.

watch the top gear video... mazda paid them off too right.edmunds.com the review and comparison was also paid off by them right
THE Z IS HOTT BUT DONT HATE ON THE 8 its hott just not as fast.

I chose the 350z over the RX8 because its like the S2000. You have to have high revs to enjoy it. But the main reason is because the RX8 yells "LOOK AT ME" where as the 350z looks more refined and smooth. Plus I really couldn't tell much differance in handling and I plan on driving my car on the street and not on the track. RX8 is still a great car IMO.
I rather not have a car with an engine that produces less torque than what force I use to tighten the lugnuts on my wheels
haha JK JK
I agree..they are two different types of cars... the 8 is more nimble than the Z due to the weight difference, bur really needs to be revd up to at least 6k for the powerband to really start......The Z produces much more torque and does have good stability where you can invoke oversteer if needed with no worries. I think it comes down to personal preference and driving style.
