I know both cars are good, but I thought the extra, I mean extra torque would carry it through. I guess the RX8's less weight and balance kinda made the playing field a little more even than I thought. Enjoyed the vid, thanx.

yeah....the drivers were a little on the rough side though...stock z hitting 60 at 6+ secs and the 1/4mile at 14.8?!?! same with the rx8...those numbers were too high for these cars.

^ i agree whatsup with that? Yeah RX- 8 may be lighter but i've raced one and was no competition whats so ever. And i've driven one, the transmision is really sloppy and doesnt feel fun to drive at all. I guess the RX-8 won because they were saying you get your bang for the buck with mazda.

didn't you notice that the drivers were granny shifting? there was a (relatively) long period of silence before you see him engage the next gear! they weren't even shifting proparly.

im going to have to be biased here but i also love the Z. The rx8 with suspension tuning is something a Z cannot compare to, where as a Z with engine tuning a RX8 cannot compare to. I have spent a lot of time behind a Z, (originally was supposed to purchase one) but i've always been a rotary fan. The z is no slouch when tuning suspension but the rx8 will have the slight upperhand in that dept.

hmm anyone notice the z had clear reflectors and rays track wheels......and they showed brembos.

in the video they called it the touring model. I cant trust that show, saying it cost 7k over the base model just to get 18's Theyre so f-ing retarded!

It also added vdc, brembos, 18's, leather seats and a lsd and a premium sound system.

that is if they actually drove a touring and not a track or performance model...

but more importantly, stock clear reflectors?

OK, so they just got it wrong? How did they know about the 06 feature when they likely produced the clip in 03? Whatever, they are idiot's.

Yep. They showed the Touring model in the beginning, then the track at the end...probably reused some footage from their first roadtest/review. Not very professional IMO.

Too biased. WTF is up how they made it look like the RX8 beat the Z around the track. All they kept talking about was bang for the buck. Plus, they jacked the price just for 18" wheels which is stupid. Why didn't they jack the price on the RX8 for engine mods?

hehehe...
i actually have a rx8 and 350x similarly equipped at the shop
rx8 has 19 in Ame Circlar R , Zeal Coilovers, Intake, Exhaust , Sway Bars
Z33 has 19 in Ame Shallen Cx (Heavier) , Zeal Coilovers , Intake, Exhaust , Cusco Negative Camber Arm , Y- Pipe

Both cars are running 245/275 front and rear
and the Z can keep up and catch up to the 8 in the twisties...

The Rx8 Definitely has a well designed rear suspension... But i still love the Z =)

is that you rishie? its xdeedubbx from the rx8club.

on many different occaisions driving up some twisties whether it being on malibu or mountain roads, swapping cars with my cousin (z owner) my 8 always had better entrance speed coming into a bend, thats where I was able to pull away (vice versa) but where the Z always catches up is coming out of the turn. I guess torque rules all...
