I was messing around while removing my cats and figured I'd throw this up so people can hear how mean our engines are with no exhaust. I wish i had revved the engine, but it was smelling like fumes pretty bad and we were in a semi-closed area. Enjoy

I rolled with a guy Saturday that has cut his mufflers off his Z32, it sounds great, big surprise to me.

Buddy of mine had a civic with just headers and no exhaust. Turboed, that thing was CRAZY...after i got out i smelled like i just finished cutting the grass.

i have done the same thing, its sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo loud just at idle, if you rev it, its insanely loud!! i mean you could hear it blocks away loud for sure....

 

here is a vid of my car with just headers from when i was installing my test pipes. i only reved it to around 3500-4000rpm because it was really freakin loud, about 1:30am, and a cop lives next door to my friend whose house i was working in.

doesnt the 02 sensor or some other sensor turn on when you take the exhaust off? we did it to my friends camaro ss, and the car would shut off after about 10 seconds

the 03s tend to not have any problems with the 02 sensor. i never got a check engine light or anything from replacing test pipes and didnt have to use a diode or whatever like some of the later years or other cars require. maybe since the 03 doesn't have wideband 02 sensors?

 

Wonder if there is any power gains? LOL

 

It's a chevy, it probably wasnt the exhaust that made it shut down,lol

DANG!! i ran open Y-Pipe and ITS WAS LOUD!@!!! revved it a bit and i think the whole city heard it cant imagine open headers

 

dude those guys are all haters! i have mine without the exhaust and i scare the **** outta people when i drive by. "I took the ristrictor plate off the red dragon , but don't tell anyone...shes not exactly street legal!" Will Ferrel...
