I wonder with all that money if he figured out a way to make the SLK handle decently, must be insanely front heavy with that giant engine. If he did, my o my what a car that is.
to tell you the truth...the SLR engine isnt heavy...its a supercharged 5.5L V8...very similar to the e55 engine..however it is producing about 190hp more with its 90degrees design...so i wouldnt imagine the weight is a big issue.
Actually, it's not that unbelievable that they put the slr motor in that car. The SLK55 already has a 5.5 liter v8 in. It's just a naturally aspirated version of the one that that is the E55 as mentioned above, and the SLR motor is just an E55 motor on steroids...many....many....many steroids.
I'd also imagine it handles ok. I've driven the slk 55 and it handles pretty well even with a big v8 out front. I'd have to get the specs from work on what the weight of the slr motor is compared to the normal, naturally aspirated v8.
