After reading and watching anything and everything I could get my hands on about the 350z, I have come to the conclusion that that stuffy old english bugger has no idea what he is talking about. He must have simply been paid to give it a terrible review. I so wish I could contact this guy or see him in person and flatten his tires! Don't get me wrong I know the Zee insn't a supercar but what he says is just plain wrong. Also, I read the hard cover book that came with my car and it seems to me it was all Japenese...can anyone verify what this clout is saying about the french engine, and american design?

He's an idiot. The VQ series of motors was designed by Nissan in Japan and all of them are made by Nissan in Japan. Renault had/has absolutely nothing to do with the design or production of VQ motors.
Oh...and no american design whatsoever went in the 350Z.
Not all british reviewers hate the Z:

I think Tiff loves every car he drives...a true enthusiast of all sports cars who always looks for the good in each (and is able to bring that good to the forefront). Back in the 90's Tiff was was one of the main presenters of Top Gear before BBC pulled the show...he went onto the rival Fifth Gear, while Jeremy went crawling back to Top Gear.
i think he was driving an british pre-production version of the car. I dont' remember what was changed since then. There's another thread about it in the archives here somewhere. Anyway, hamster likes it!
