Cops life was not in danger. When the car was driving away at 2mph he could have gotten out of the way. He shot and maybe killed someone over what, a traffic violation? Trigger happy cops need to get locked up.

The officer doesn't have to get out of the way. No duty to retreat. The driver brought it on himself.

Agreed. What duty does he have shooting at a vehicle multiple times especially after driving away. The more I watch it I wonder if both parties were shooting...impossible to tell from the video.

I'm suprised that person decided to still drive off, even when the police that a gun pointed at him. What an idiot, that man deserved to get shot.

What a retard, driving toward an officer with a gun pointed at your face. Maybe the shot count wasnt necissary but the officer had the right.

lol... no, seriously, happy trigger cops are a problem... IMO, that was not necessary... Sure.. the guy was an a$$hole for tryin to run, but The guy could've been drunk or stoned out or ****... but thats not enough as a reason to take someone's life...

Your right thats not, then this drunk or stoned out a$$hole, as you say, goes flyin down the road and oops.... he just ran a red light and broadsided a minivan carrying a family of 5. Now 5 innocent people are dead, but all is good because the "trigger happy cop" didn't take the life of the drunk stoned out a$$hole, oh and by the way the drunk lived of course, but he is locked up now for life and now taxpayers will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep him in prison for the next 80 years while he sits on death row. Sounds like a GREAT ending!

Real smart dude, people who think cops are trigger happy are seriously ignorant as hell. Most cops will serve their entire career and will have never discharged their weapon. "Lets lock the cop up for trying to get a $hitbag off the street" makes a whole hella lot of sense. Done venting!

WTF?

I know the Z is in the wrong but WTF? why shoot the guy for once... why not shoot the TIRES?
secondly... do you really need to fire 10 shots? like 1 or maybe 2 is good enough... I dont think the cop did a good job

Shooting tires does not stop vehicles (and is against many department policies).

What qualifies you to say that only 1-2 shots would have been acceptable in this situation? Were you able to see what was going on inside the vehicle? Do you know the reason for the traffic stop? Do you have any firearms training at all (besides possible target practice)?

How many years have you been a cop?

I think innocent bystanders (i.e. an intersection) getting hit by stray rounds are more likely to kill innocent people then the guy hitting a family in the van. That being said, now that the guy is wounded and running he is really likely to hit that family in the van. The shooting now serves as a double edged sword. Consider the worst possible outcome vs stopping the idiot in the car.

Dont get me wrong. I am not bashing law enforcement. I just see it unfit to discharge a weapon and risk taking innocent life when a life in not in imminent danger. My belief is that weapon should be mainly for self defense, protecting his own life or someone else life, not as an offensive tool.
