If the specs on the M3 are accurate to what has been said on this thread, the M3= Pathetic and yes, anyone that does buy an M car does have a performance-oriented mind set.
Why is everyone attaking the M3?

The Fairlady Nismo 350z in the video has 400hp and weights 3400 lbs. It's not a STANDARD 350z!

Because if the power difference between the two cars is true, the M deserves the 'attack.'

I don't think the Z has 400 hp. I have 400 bhp and I am turbocharged.

Firebase just said that the friggin M3 is a V8 no less which would be understandable that it can reach over 400.

Since when did the Nismo Z make that much or similar horsepower from the factory, huh?????

The M3 started last, and finished first. And it looked like it had more to it. Not sure why that's pathetic to you.

Obviously, anyone who buys an M3 is going to have a performance oriented-mindset. It doesn't take a genious to figure that out. But my point was that people don't buy the M3 just for performance. They buy it because it has alot more than just performance. It's a well-balanced performance luxury car.

The Nismo Z held its ground well against the M3 on the corners; the Z looked alot more stable. It just doesn't have the power to hang against it in the straight line.

Again, all other criteria aside, if it is true that the M3 has over 400 hp and onyl JUST beat the Nismop Z which started, I believe, second to last, it was pretty pathetic. I am NO LONGER talking about price (if I ever did in the first place). I am talking strictly hp numbers and performance.

With that kind of power, you would expect that car to be a lot faster and not just BARELY beating a 300+ hp car.

Finally, a decent driver in the Z. If the Z had maybe 10 more hp, it could have possibly pulled off the win at the end. That was one close final lap. Im really disappointed in the M3 though. It won by only a few feet.

Glad to see that you guys see my point.

Christ, does the M3 really have that much hp? If so, it must weigh A LOT to barely beat the Z.

if that race would have gone longer than for 4 laps, the m3 would have put bus lengths on the Z. just barely won, rofl. yeah because it ended at 4 laps and the m had to play catch up. put the m3 in the lead and see how much the Z gets wasted by.

now why would they put a regular Z against an m3 and an is-f? i think the 380rs would've been a better match up. m3's have always been overpriced imho, definitely not worth the $

Yeah these videos are fun to watch but seriously that is a short race. If the cars started at the same place and were by themselves the m3 would be outta there. I don't know what the s2000 was doing though I hope it wasn't trying.
