Is that a Turbo Charge Civic or VW? So that's modded and not stock right?

Ah yes, Camuman. I remember him from 20Vturbo.com. My old fav forum. He's got a Silver Jetta. He has an APR chip 93/100, CAI, and a 3in Turboback. I dunno if he had any other mods in the video but I think those mods alone could put you in mid-to-high 13s.

What do you expect? All those dumb stock 350Z owners out there that think they are gonna beat everything out on the road. Most will only run 14 flat at best, and last I heard that isn't fast!

I dont get the big deal, it was'nt a stock vs stock race so its pointless? You can mod a freekin scooter to beat a Z, so what does it prove!? Oh they "PWND" a nice car, bravo boys now go home to momma before she grounds you..

I guess the Z was just a benchmark for camuman. What's the fun of racing a car you know you can beat?

well why don't you guys put a Twin Turbo and RE-smoke the Turbo charge Jetta. So don't need to be sad

If we put Twin Turbo on our Z maybe even Porsche GT2 will get smoked

Yeah I have a 2000 Jetta for a daily driver and those are the exact same gauges. The 1.8ts are good engines and can make some serious power.

The race from a dig seemed pretty even...run it with a 6-spd and I think it's a different outcome

I totally agree. Once you start modifying cars, all bets are off. If the Z owner modified his car, he probably would've pulled ahead. Of course, the VW owner could modify even more, and beat the Z again. Then the Z owner could modify some more and get back in front. Wash, rinse, repeat. There is no end to modification other than running out of money.

Prior to my Z I used to have an Audi A4 1.8t and the things are pretty slow in stock form, but once modified those little 1.8t engines make great power and torque. Fantastic little engines. You start putting bigger turbos on them and they can get gnarly. Almost 300 horsepower is attainable on stock internals.

Anyone remember that video of the Civic racing a Viper and keeping up just fine? The video camera was in the Viper, and you hear the Viper driver in total disbelief. That most certainly does not mean Civics are as fast as Vipers. It just means that one extremely modified Civic is as fast as a Viper.

I used to have a 2003 VW GTI 1.8T 5 speed with APR Chip/ CAI/ Turbo-Back exhaust.

I had no problem matching a 6 speed 350Z neck and neck from 0-100mph, after 100mph its aerodynamics pulled it ahead by like 3-4 cars atleast! But I was proud of my GTI.

Yeah that car was a quick lil guy.

I just bought a 2003 DB 350Z 6MT Touring though =) love it.

Was the video of the viper against a black civic? Cause I've seen that video and its in houston. Totally clean civic.

yeah but you cant compare a stock car vs a tuned up car, it's like comparing a Z with a Viper. you have to be in your own category/group. to be fair, drop a Greddy in the Z, there are no chances left for that... VW or Civic.

yeah that car is a Jetta.. my friend has the same guages. i guess the thing is that with their car all fixed up... the price was still cheaper than a stock Z and they beat it. kind of like saying "i got a better deal than you" at least this is what my friend says all the time. i don't mind tho.. cars with all them heavy mods are usually seen balanced on milk cartons if they don't have a garage if you know what i mean. the Z's looks alone can kill
