Ok guys. On the market so far are available quite few intakes for the HR. many of you have either fujita, AEM(as we assume the NISMO is similar to AEM), or stillen. So, i kinda want to try to get everyone involved here. What is really the best way to go as far as intakes available on the market. Some say stillen is an "excuse" for an intake. Fujita is too complicated to install, and no significant gains. AEM "the car Feels the same, just the WOT". so, from the available options we have, what would be a good intake, that would provide gains, the WOT, and the feeling of the car being little bit more responsive. Therefore, the way to go.

No intake will give you noticeable gains. You're trippin' over intakes...sadness.

There is a plug on the side of each intake box. I popped those out. Did it do anything? Its possible...little louder and maybe another hp or so. Its good enough for me. Do a search on factory air box mods for other cars and you would be surprised of the gains (sometimes more then aftermarket intakes). Im hoping the theory works for the HR as well.

you gotta read between the lines sometimes, and it is not "what's the best intake?" thread. it's what is a good intake.

Its all about personal preference. We are only talking about a 1 or 2 hp. Pick one that fits your budget. I would lean towards one with a heat shield but I dont feel anything lagging or different with my fujita.

what's with the negativity? Cobbs intakes are, I believe, silicone piping (or hoses, whatever you would call silicone) with a relocated cone filter. They are using my car as the testbed, but I do not know ALL the details on this. Cobb has probably the greatest reputation of any aftermarket company with the subaru market, and having spent time at their shop and with some engineers, I do not expect anything less from their Nissan products!

The final conclusion is that there is none! Despite everyone bitching about Fujita's dyno results on their intake, no one has stepped up to do an independent test. I don't recall see any dyno before/after info on the NISMO or AEM intakes either.

You aren't really going to feel a 3-5hp gains on a 300hp car. AEM, Fujita, Stillen & Nismo are honestly all going to be a sound improvement and the personal thoughts of the "smidgen" of throttle response improvements but as far as horse power are cars already have a great stock intake setup (dual) so in my opinion, its a personal decision to spend 400-500 bucks on the sound and perhaps the looks of a dual intakes. With Fujita, I've heard of the loss of horse power due to heat soak and with the AEM and the new JWT pops coming out, they are both going to get rapped by heat soaking aswell. Perhaps the Cobb may be a good one to hold off on being that it will be silicone, but in the mean time I'm contempt with my stock box's w/ my custom intake ducts. Or just go High Flow Cats, that's guaranteed HP!

I went with fujita, simply because it was the cheapest. Got it off ebay for $230 shipped.

wait for K&N to come out with their drop-in filters, it's not worth the $500 for some kind of performance gains that will never be confirmed. otherwise there wouldn't be an intake thread every 3 days.
