Sweet maybe by next year kinks will be worked out and I can have a 400whp HR. Well I know that is low, but I need a DD car.

I dunno all about that, the GTR has new technology in there that the G37 prolly will never have. In either case looks great.

In theory you are right, but for some reason the tuners think other wise. I know I sure as hell can't wait for a FI set up for my car.

dude did u read sharifs hr's disection post... far stronger..... not. there is no way to tell as of yet since there hasnt been a system for this engine yet here in the states. there is no doubt wit good tunes and engine management it would make just as much power as the de's if not more. but the only downfal is that the hr is a 3 year if not 2 year production car before new z in 09 or 10.

You have a solid point there, but who is to say that Nissan wont just throw in the 3.7 in a lighter 370z?

I heard the same thing from a very good resource...Who really knows, but I feel that the 3.5 HR will still be in the Z for another year

For someone who has taken the engine apart, GTM, the internals are much stronger than the previous DE.

not only have I read it, I've seen and viewed the dissembled rotating assembly in front of me...and there is zero doubt that the rotating assembly of an HR is far beefier than any VQ that has come before it. There are significant changes in the block vs all previous generations. There is no way anyone who has seen the various VQ's in disassembled form could not say the HR is the strongest of the bunch so far

Is 400hp doable on a stock block, with out internal modification as a DD? If so where do I sign up!
