Lightbulb Couple issues i've experienced ..with my 07

I've had a few things that i wanted to list on the forum.

1) When i warm it up in the morning, i start off in 1st ..shift to 2nd and when i push the clutch in feels and hears like something is lose and rattles and then goes into 2nd fine. only happens in the mornings and when *kinda* cold.

2) I experienced the clutch getting *stuck* during launch at the drag strip, is this normal or should i take it to the dealer?

Seems like the Z's tranny are really noisy..and its kinda

3) release clutch during ideal ..i hear the *normal* sound during idle from the clutch but sometimes its rattles, and is kidna loud.

Help? ideas? dealer visit for me?

Most of this is normal..clutches and trannies on Z are noisy. Search on the clutch stuck issue...its been discussed here. You may have to take it to your dealer..

If you do go to a dealer, leave out the whole "drag strip" thing...probably won't help much, haha

Yeah, I get the clutch rattles in the morning also. Another thing I've noticed is in the mornings my shifter feels like it's rubbing against something when rocking it sideways without putting it in gear...

My car is at Nissan for the second time for the clutch pedal going to the floor and not coming up. These 07's aren't designed as well as previous models in the clutch department, or maybe it's just mine.

Its not the whole clutch but just a bad "Slave/Assist" cylinder design. Nissan told me that there may be a redesigned part in the near future, we'll see. I had mine replaced once but have had the pedal stick to the floor one time since. Fortunately I was able to pop it back up.

Did it stick during normal driving, like you were starting off easy from a stop light in first and it just stuck to the ground?

This time I was coming back from the getty museum in malibu and I was on the highway in 6th gear and I noticed it when I was going into 6th gear. The clutch pedal seemed a bit soft. I tried it again and it went down about 80% and stayed there. I called Heri and west covina nissan and told him whats going on and he told me to bring it over. So I drove it there.

I daily drive my Z, I don't push it hard all the time. However I do expect it to take abuse once in a while. I didn't pay this much money to go easy on a damn car. If I wanted a weak car that has no power I would have bought a B16 honda!

I had the clutch thing happen to me as well, I took it to them 2 times before and they said "can not reproduce". The third time I brought it in I called corp Nissan and gave them numbers to a nissan tech in So Cal who could reproduce. That time they replaced the entire clutch assembly, they had my car for 4 days but gave me a free Rental. Ever since then it's been perfect. The funny thing is it leaked clutch fluid, so you guys should check your levels.

Second gear is very clunky, but I guess its normal on a Z.

I am no Z expert, but I understand that the tranny/diff fluid nissan uses sucks. My buddies (both have went through a couple of Z trannies) advice to me, as I am looking to buy in the next couple months, is to drain the fluid immediately, and replace it with Royal Purple or BG Synchroshift as it makes a huge difference in feel and increases the life substantially.

Have the trans noise on my 07, had the same trans noise on my 03. You should here the rattle if you start out in any garage or closed space, it is just a characteristic of the set-up on these cars.

The clutch sticking issue on the other hand...

Agree with you man, the car should be able to take a bit of a smack down every now and then. And having the clutch stick in 6th is simply retarded. I hope mine does it soon so I can get it over with

I think I am going to replace the trans fluid here shortly to hopefully prevent the problem, but I don't want to throw that cash away if it is just going to happen anyway.

This honestly stinks. This is a 2007 car for god sake. The first time it failed was 2 months into owning it, now the second time 7 months into it. Sorry about my rant but i've owned 10 year old sneakers that were more reliable. lol
