Default 07/08 Custom Plenum Cover Finished!

UPDATES ON PAGE 2

Well just got done painting it today, I only had blue paint so I decided to shoot it real quick in blue. Its not the best quality paint job or pics but it will do for now. Here is some pictures like I promised. Next step is going to be making a carbon fiber version of this. Let me know what you think.

Before, when I was bored with the ugly plenum.

Without the strut bar.

With the strut bar.

i like the stock cover. Yours is ok but it's way to bumpy. Maybe if it was smoother with a professional paint job, it would look great.

It really does look better when its not under about 25 flourescent lights. Take my word for it lol. I am looking forward to making it CF though, fiberglass really isnt the material I would use for a permanent engine cover. I am looking to get feedback on the overall shape and the design is the main thing.

CF would be better, but IMO the overall shape is a little bland. Spice it up with some more curves or something in it.

I am still thinking about adding on sides so it sits flush with the throttle bodies and recessing the nuts into the cover like greddy on the TT setup.

Oh, I also thought about adding the "hood hump" effect into the cover lol. but then I would loose the strut bar.

You could always create a rounded dip in the cover for the strut bar like hte one on the stock cover to make it fit.

If you could replicate the Greddy one, that would be awesome...

My opinion since it's done now...

Seems like it needs a bit more shape to it. I like your idea of taking it out to match up with the throttle bodies. I also like the idea of adding the lump to it. You could do it without having to worry about the strut bar... just end the lump before that. Also, I'd add a Z or Nissan badge (maybe the 3.5 V6 also from the stock cover) to break up all the blue a bit.

Good job though. I'm interested in your GReddy attempt. Are you laying CF? If so, what weave?

Yeah blue was just temprorary because it was the only thing I had at the time. I started on a greddy replica today, and my ADD mind just started building on the rep cover so... the next one is going to be interesting believe me lol. I was thinking about using 2x2 twill weave, I dunno any suggestions??

I like the 1x1 weave... looks much better than 2x2.
