Default 07 Berk Technologies Test Pipes Installed w/vids & pics

I got the Berk Tech. test pipes installed last night. Took my guy 6 hours to do since a local muffler shop stripped the driver side top bolt (didn't tell me) and also seized both o2 sensors in the cats by trying to take them out when the car was still hot. My guy had to actually take off my header and cut off the bolt to the cat pipe. He was unable to work out the o2 sensors so I had to order new ones today which will be in on Thursday morning. He did an awesome install on the test pipes. I'm driving very easy right now since I don't have the sensors in. Rasp is basically from 2-3k and nice and deep after that. The test pipes fir perfectly and are top notch. Welds are clean and the brackets are amazing. Here are some pics. I'll post up a vid and more pics once I get the o2 sensors in.

If your wondering what the gold bungs are they are additional cell fixes. I've used them on my WRX and EVO and never got a cell. $20 a piece but it's the right way to do it and you don't get that pesty little light.

hey, i did a set of berk downpipes on a customer 07 350Z... and for whatever reason - be it poor craftsmanship of the factory O2 sensor bungs (running too fast of a speed when tapping the threads) or poor installation (dude's rushing to install them on the factory floor) or just a poor compromise to get the emissions cleaner (running the 02 sensor between two catalytic converters) those o2 sensors must be doomed from the factory. But i came up with a solution - instead of making the customer spend 260.00 on two new o2 sensors, i used two 4pin Deutch DTM connectors and made him a subharness to run some 03-06 350Z front 02 sensors i had lying around..

did the trick

(oh btw, that top bolt on the driver side -- your muffler dude prolly didnt want to disconnect the steering shaft and remove the driver side intake duct) -- that gives you clear access from above)

good luck!

Thanks guys. Yes, the second installer did do a great job considering the mess he was dealt with. The fist shop screwed me over. They did remove the intake but still stripped the bolt. I should be getting the new Bosch o2 sensors tomorrow morning and have them installed tomorrow afternoon.

I get the gold bungs from a buddy if mine. His dad works at a Subaru dealership and I get them from him. They work wonders!

I'll be posting sound clips this weekend for sure.

So as of now you dont have the 02 sensors in? If so once you get them in then let us know if the CEL fix worked. Because i have used several other cel fixes before with great results but the 07 Z is a no go.. let us know after 200 miles, its usually how long it takes to trip it.

Clean looking install. I like the mounting bracket for the center brace.

Hey guys. Ok I recieved the Bosch o2 sensors but of course the plugs did not fit so I had to splice the wires to the factory plug. I still have a check engine light but I have not reset the ECU yet. I had to take off to get back to work and forgot last night. So I'm going to do it today and see what happens. I've also heard that the 07 will throw one no matter what. Well see what these do.

The car sounds amazing. More rasp than I thought but over 5 grand it's awesome. If I short shift it it sounds real deep and throaty. I just want to get it on the dyno to see where I'm at as far as numbers go. I'll be getting vids up tomorrow sometime.

The car sounded bad a$$ in the cockpit man. Tanabe exhaust sounds pretty damn good on the new 07's.
