Im going to have to -1 on that one. Dont get me wrong, stock filters are still good, but in the long run, you will spend more money replacing the OEM filters rather than just regular maintenance and cleaning on the same pair of K&N's.

when used properly K&N filters are fine, but many people tend to over-oil them.

So you guys are getting the drop in so you save money on replacement filters rather than power increase correct? Just thought ide ask since people say with no filter theres no power gain, too bad, with no filters in revving it up you sound like a racecar lol.

if I'm not mistaken, someone already tried dynoing the vq35HR with NO FILTER and it made no difference versus stock filters.

At the track you won't see too much of a difference with no filter. I ran my car without a filter but the results weren't enough to state a 1mph trap speed increase.
But this was without a filter, a K&N might be a different story. I'm replacing it because my stockers are dirty and I don't want to pay for OEM replacement.

not possible unless you build up significant ram air pressure which simply doesn't happen with these intakes.
