Seriously, if I get some better launches in, hopefully I can move up on that list.
Yeah, your launch is killing you. Its hard in cold weather. In the mornings (only 40 here so not too bad) I get no traction until I've warmed the tires some from driving. I can't imagine launching in 30-40 degrees unless they lapped enough cars to get the track temp up some.

Peak350, I know those launches are downright crappy. My last runs all were in 35 degree temps. I can't wait until 40 degree runs in the spring, I just hope I have some rubber left on my tires.

I never did any burnouts before my runs either, higher temps with a quick burnout to clean the tires should help me out. At least I hope so.

<------ Now that his sticking clutch issue has been fixed, he is patiently waiting for the weather to warm up so he can grab the number 1 spot.

Always do a small burnout. Have you ever felt your tires in staging, there is so much gravel on mine it feels like 10 grit sandpaper.

If you have a base (aka no LSD) do 2 or 3 small quick burnouts instead of one larger quick burnout so that you spin both tires fairly equally.

Good luck, but its harder to make those launches than you think.

I was making them on a sticking clutch (some runs were worse than others) but always fighting terrible wheel hop/spin issues. Its going to take a lot of practice (took me 50+ runs) to get the exact clutch movement down.

And keep in mind most tracks prep less in the wintertime because the VHT can't get sunbaked as much (less heat to get it sticky) and the bracket seasons usually haven't started so there isn't any 'real' justification for the extra prep.
