NO cel here.... You can always unplug the battery for 24 hs to get rid of a CEL... if there's nothing wrong w/ the car...
did you notice anything wrong while driving??

With a simple install like this the only way you could trigger a CEL light is if someone turned the key on, while the MAF sensor's were unplued during the install. Was you girlfriend playing the radio while you were under the hood?!

No matter the light will go out after a few days or as already mentioned pull the battery cable over night.

So far I can just turn the car on in the garage and rev the engine to feel the difference after the pop chargers. Can't wait to drive.

People need (not speaking to u who I quoted) to get their heads out there asses.... Yes.. The engine gives off tons of heat. EVERY car deals with it. Every aftermarket company that makes intakes knows this. Just because the air around the intake is hot dsn't mean the air going into the intake is. No matter what kinda of intake you have. Even stock is going to be feeling the effects of a hot engine bay. The metal piping is so when the cold air comes it, it can also try and keep the pipe a bit cold. Thats why it's metal pipes. Because the temp can be affected and changed quickly. The cold air from outside will cool all of it off more. That's also why the filters SHOULD be designed to be towards the bumper or opening where cold air would come from. If aftermarket intakes would kill performance no one would be making them. And everyone still buys them..
If intakes were sooooooo crappy. Then why is every single performance car made have an aftermarket intake?? If they were so bad then stock ones would stay in.... This is to much of a theory of hearsoak and people are too scared of it. It will happen at a stand still. But can't in motion. If your also scared. Get a hood with openings then. Slit some holes in your fenders then also.....
^ Some intakes HAVE been proven to give power losses - but people buy them for looks, sound, etc...
I would rather have silicone hoses than metal. Like you said, metal absorbs the temperature more but I think the engine is going to have a little more heat to give off then the air coming in. Engine side wins, resulting in a hot pipe that WILL warm up the air coming in - to an extent.
The cold air from the filter location is not designed to cool the pipes, it's designed to supply the engine with cooler, denser air - cooling the pipes is just a "side benefit" if anything more than a natural equilibrium.
