I solved that problem by switching to a louder exhaust....

Did you make an appointment? The service letter said that it would take 3 hours.

yes i made an appointment, im also going to ask if they will give me a rental car due to the fact that the Z is my ONLY mode of transportation and would be a MAJOR pain in the *** if i dont get a rental, from what alot of people were saying on the huge sticky is that they were gettin rentals...

I completely agree. I have now put 800~ miles on my car since I got the slave cylinder replacement in. All these miles are extremly rough. I went over the weekend on a event called RB Stampede, and the car saw lots and lots of 90+ and high revs most of the time during this event. And the car got to see the track event at Harris Hill Road, and was out on the track with no break during the whole morning. No issues at all from the clutch.

Solo,

That Stampede sounds like fun. I checked your thread and was surprised that it didn't cost that much. Any problems with the police?

I participated in a "rally" before where deep triple digits were reached. I wasn't in the Z, but at an electronically limited 155mph, the other cars were pulling away.

I recently got my slave cylinder replaced and everything feels great, but for some reason when I drive over a small dip in the road or a bumpy road I hear a sound coming from somewhere under the car. It sounds like something slightly rubbing. I checked my exhaust (fast intentions) and the clearance is fine. Do you guys know what it is?

What is this slave cylinder problem you guys from the USA are constantly having? I see lots of posts up on that subject. Personally I have a 07zr, and didn't/don’t have any problems except (personally clutch) I don’t like the feel + assistant. I also have 2 of my close friends that each owns the 07 z coupe (VQ35HR) without any problems so far. I am the type of person that pushes the car REALLY HARD as well. I do know that my car was assembled in JAPAN since I specifically asked for it. (How you know if your car is assembled and build in Japan)
(look at the first letter of your VIN # if it is a J then it is made in Japan, a 1 (I think is Mexico) Any way the only dislikes I have about the car is 1) clutch feel 2) gear box and 3) is my oil gauge is always off the hook (high) whether the car is cold or warm.

Battles over, I have grand touring wheels (stock tires on em) so I can't be considered stock.

I think I found a set of DR's to borrow though, so I might try to get 12's on an otherwise stock car (DR's and spare delete).

We'll see.

Also, note I'm beating him at the 1/8th mile mark but hes going 3 mph faster than me. I drove the crap out of the car on that run, I just don't ever see the temperatures others do.

Mine took 4 days. Monday looked @ it, determined "they did not have the ""NEW"" part". Tuesday - no part, Wed - Part in Starting work. Thurs - job done & oil changed. The only things I miss about my G35 and TL were the service. Nissan service is nowhere close to ACURA or Infiniti.

Uh...ok if you're gonna complain about how long it took at least comment on whether you felt any difference with the new part. thx

Well it's smooth, but it was pretty smooth before. I've only 3600 miles on my 07 (bought in July 07, driven 4 days a week to work). Got it back on Thursday night, seemed a little "snappier". Saturday morning I had a magnaflow SS exhaust put on, so bottom line it's really too soon to definitively tell the difference. I was supposed to have the exhaust put on before I took it in for the recall, the service adviser suggested waiting and said they could take care of it. After waiting 4 days he said they "didn't want to do it because it wasn't a NISMO". Now I don't mind if they don't want to install it, but don't have me not put it on, then load it in the car in order to decide that.

My comment wasn't aimed a the recall part, but in reply to the comments about finding a "GOOD" service department. Z = AWESOME CAR w/ Nissan Service (50/50). G35 Sedan = Really Nice Car w/ Infiniti Service (very good if not great). Acura TL = Really Nice Car (not a sporty) w/ ACURA service (Great). Almost makes me wish the Z was an Infiniti.
