07 350Z and 08 G37 same dyno same day
I've run a 6-spd G37 and my Z back to back on a dyno here as well. They're pretty similar in the low-mid rpms and then the G37 starts to pull away on the top end. We saw about a 15rwhp difference between the two cars. The G37 we tested was quite a bit stronger up top than yours. You sure it wasn't pulling timing or anything on the dyno?
I was looking for the dyno runs and I was going to overlay them and post them up in the thread, but I can't find them on my computer anymore.

for those that made comments about different dyno's and all, its the same dyno, within about an hour of each other, i "drove" both of the cars on the dyno, just like it says in the first post
for those wondering about mileage, it prolly had an affect though, cause the z has about 19k on the clock while the g only about 3.5k. the owner of the g37 plans to redyno again when he has more miles right before he starts modding to get a better idea how much his mods were worth

not surprised...the VQ35HR is clearly underrated...although the 37HR has a nice linear and rising power curve, the 35HR is clearly no sloutch. it wouldn't matter what they pulled on the dyno anyway....the fastest G37s (all autos)have been seen at 13.7s...while the HR 350Zs have been seen as low as 13.3s.
doesn't matter what they pull on the rollers, it's real driving conditions and how they put the power down on the pavement that counts. IMHO dynos are only good for baselines and tuning...

the fastest stock auto z did a 13.8 in the quarter, then there was a modded one that did a 13.5, but that one had more mods than available to the public as far as i know, so the auto is actually faster than the z in the 1/4

the guy with the G37 said he's gonna let me run his at the track when it opens, so well see what it does there (he's planning on driving it himself also, incase u guys are wondering)

5. Veetec --------------------------04 Base 6spd 13.640@102.42mph 1.983 60ft
7. DomZ ----------------------------03 Tour Auto 13.667@101.57mph 1.996 60ft
pretty good times for the DE...
i think the more people that have HR motors the better times we'll see as well.

Thought thats what dynos are for?? Anyways you couldn't be more riight.... Not to determine who is actually faster but what your motor is putting out....
Can't wait to see some more HR 1/4's.... maybe when the track opens in the spring I'll get the ***** to drive the 2 hours to the closest track and see....

I plan on dynoing my car soon. I think it's pretty obvious the 3.5 HR is underrated.
I've also noticed an improvement in times and trap speeds, even at a track known for lower trap speeds, with the miles getting up a bit. I currently have 25K.

By the way what track are you running at and how far about sea level is it?
hope u do know that starting in 07 a new HP rating was used which for example makes the 06 revup not 300 but like 293 or so under the new rating and the 306 in the HR would be around 315-320 in that area under the old standards
You do know the 07 TB starts to close at 7000rpms. It looks like the G37 TB stay open. it will be nice to see when the reflash dyno's come out and keep the HR TB's open to 8000rpms

A dyno is just a tool to help tuners. Lets not get too caught up in it. My car dyno'd 290/254. If someone asked me how much power I put out, I just shrug and say "im not sure but its rated at 306hp"

I think thats the best logical answer yet for those who are still stock...With my last car, I went to three different dynos over the course of year and could never get consistent numbers.

what is the gearing difference on the cars? transmission gearing? final drive gear ratio? when i went from a 3.5 to a 3.3FD, my dyno numbers dropped by the exact same percentage as the gear ratio difference.
