The stock manifolds are NOT equal length (but they are close).
Those JVT on Ebay are wrongly listed as including the VQ35HR. Checked the JVT website and their headers for the Z/G are only advertised to fit the DE. Just FYI to update your sticky.

Someone out here in HI has them installed on his '07... unless he's full of ****.

I'll double-check. Thanks for the heads up.

Hmm. I think when Forged had that thread regarding the VQ35HR, they did claim that any aftermarket header for the DE would bolt up to the HR just fine, except the point where the cats/testpipes would meet the header was different due to the different angle that the engine was mounted. Depending on how far off the collector is, if theres enough clearance I suppose one could have modified the mounting of the cats or test pipes to fit the headers. It just seems doubtful, knowing that the angles are different on the HR and DE, that headers fitting the DE would fit the HR without any modifications to either the header itself or the cats or test pipes connecting to it.

Well, I just emailed the manufacturer asking them about the fitment with regards to the HR, so if they email me back, we'll know for sure.

Headers are really worth $1300.00 + install of $500?

$1800 for the possibility of maybe 10whp (assuming you have a tune), and the requirement of taking them back off if you ever go with a turbo system... just doesn't seem like a good deal to me. You could improve performance much more efficiently in other ways on this car.

OK, JVT emailed me back. They said they never tested the fitment of the headers on an 07-08 and offered to let me be a test car to see if it would fit, but since I'm not in California, and since I also know better, I wouldn't waste my time either way. Knowing what we know about the mounting angle of the DE and HR, I think we can pretty much say that the JVT headers do NOT fit the HR.

What do we know? I am assuming from that statement that they are different?

why all this hassle for minimal gains?? just get nos and be done with it. besides can't the hr easily handly 70 shot? or is there a limit to how many times you can use it before you damage your engine? don't know much about nos.
