Nicknames, abbreviations, and acronyms are synonymous with every field. But then they are accepted as "proper terminology" among all the professionals in the industry. Whereas NOS is not accepted as "proper terminology" among professional installers. So no, I don't think I went overboard in defending my belief. I think I kept it fairly civil and was level-headed about the entire situation.

Besides, I didn't start it.

+1 on keeping it civil and such....especially on this board it's a breath of fresh air lol

I know you didn't start it, and I didn't mean to specifically point your post out...moreso it was meant for the whole thread viewers. I just think this argument went way off topic for no good reason...specifically because someone said NOS!? In fact, aren't some of you assuming he meant nitrous when in fact he maybe could literally have meant get the nitrous brand NOS and put it in the Z?

Do the manufacturers or "cooks" at Coke call their product Cola or Coke? it goes on and on.

I just think it's a big deal over nothing. Even Wiki has an opinion:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrous

I think it's a big deal over nothing too, but it was the only thing to post about and it seemed to keep bringing more people, lol. Some people are easily roused it seems.

However, calling Coke, cola or Coke isn't the same as calling Nitrous, NOS. That would be more like calling an unknown cola, Coke when it could be Pepsi. But I'm done here anyway, it's time to sleep. Have fun guys.

you seem to be the only one waiting at your computer to argue with others who don't take your point of view... get a life bro. Do i know that nos is actually nitrous? yes. Was i mistaken in not referring to it as nitrous? maybe, depending on your point of view. am i professional nitrous installer? no, so perhaps i'm not bound to the proper terminology like you so stated earlier.
Have fun making your life revolve a message board and trying to force people to your point of view

You were saying? LOL. I know what NOS is, it's an acronym and stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems. I'm betting that you didn't know that when you first said it.

Don't start trying to throw the "get a life" line. It's been overly used since the invention of the internet. Just because you can't take a little bit of someone yanking your chain doesn't mean the few seconds it takes me to make a post is making my life any less full. You made that post at 3 am, and you are online right now too right along with me. So I guess that means if I don't have a life, then you don't either, correct? So please, give it a rest. Obviously I have enough of a life to get my car to the track and turn out a decent time. What have you done? I guess you're just one of those spectator enthusiasts, huh?

I'm done here, but I'm sure that you aren't. I know someone will post a reply to this. Go ahead, I'll not see it anyway.

Always complain about something that is not available. That way you don't have to make excuses for staying stock.

I was wondering the same thing... how the hell did this end up with a stupid argument on chemical induction. Who gives a **** what you call it. This thread has officially taken a jihad on the original post/topic. The terror level has been raised to rainbow and this **** is really gay.

I stumbled across another thread in the HR forum, and Goey said some guys have found the early aftermarket headers do fit, but require you to run the older flange style cats/testpipes. Unfortunately, I read this about two hours after ordering my AAM Comps for the HR, Doe!
