Not as much momentum on the engine so the car is easier to stall. Feels like you lose 10% of your torque coming off lights. In reality if you step on it at all the car is a bit quicker.

^^ yeah, looks like it's a SOLID flywheel. HOW NOISY? Unbearable? Worth it. One guy who has the nismo says it's unbearable and embarrasing and he's looking for a stock one. Wondering if JWT is the same?

I imagine it would be the same as the pre-07's as far as noise.

Its loud, a bit annoying especially outside the car once the tranny is up to temperature (about 15 minutes driving) and I personally am annoyed with the sound. But, having the only apparent option for a stronger clutch being this route, I would live with it

Just had mine installed

All I can say is that this is a very good mod for a z car.

HR revs-up very quick now and it feels like it is easier for it to push the car forward.
Chatter is minimal, and can be avoided completely by doing a more aggressive launch.
Drivability is not compromised at all. I don’t think you need to rev harder to get moving like it was stated earlier.

So once again, great mod and since I was doing a Slave Cylinder at the same time I saved $ on install.

Same thing i'm doing. 2200 miles on the car and no need for clutch yet just upgrading the fly. Dealer ordered the slave parts over a week ago and I scheduled for install today. I just got home and the slave parts still haven't come in yet. WTF? The recall has been out for awhile now why can't they the parts shipped overnight? I will upgrade the clutch when I do FI.

Its all relative.

I just ordered the JWT stuff and have driven my buddies 06...drives more easily than stock with much smoother performance. I've driven BMW's with 8.5 lb flywheels and they are just different. Once you get used to it there isn't an issue - you just can't drop the clutch as quickly without giving the engine some throttle.

I got the Z back a few days ago with the JWT fly installed and slave recall done. I get this slight grinding chatter sound when taking off slow from N-1st. After that no sound.

Stock. It's only when taking off from a dead stop and it's pretty loud. People outside around at the time look at me like my Z is broken. It goes away around 3k or shift to 2nd. I guess this is the noise people were saying was going to happen when losing the dual mass?
