try it. won't hurt.

Use a diagnostic computer and view the injector open time in milliseconds then multiply this amount of gasoline flow by rpms. This will yield the exact fuel used per minute.

Obviously the lowest rpm possible [lowest speed] will yield the best.

Why engineers use gasoline weight per hour or grams per second.

You also know air flow into engine from MAF in grams per second and you know a steady engine rpm needs 14.7 AF so easy to calculate how much gasoline flow you need.

Your name fits you well, because that shizzle was in tech speak!

I was going to say that but did not want to sound like a know-it-all.

My best mileage is at 58 MPH.

If I pick up the speed to 69 MPH mileage drops to 31.8 MPG.

i do a lot of city driving, do you think tt would help my city mileage? i know it would hurt my highway mileage, but i have to think that the added torque would allow me to keep my rpms lower when im stop and go.

Get the car going 60 mph and reset the meter. You might get even higher on the 1st 1/2 mile.

Yeah, the HR performs a lot better and saps a LOT more gas.

My fuel economy just plain blows on the highway. Trying to figure out how to get more mileage at ~80 mph.

Obviously something needs to change to make the engine more efficient at ~2,500 RPM's. Thinking plenum

Once I realized after buying my '08 that I can still afford my car, go out. And pay for gas. I stopped caring about my gas mileage.. But I would flip if I needa fill up twice in a week. I'd havta do some serious road trip driving for that to happen.... I fill up average every 5 days usually....

Nope. I checked tire pressure and it's around 34-35 psi all around.

The best I have gotten was 31mpg. I have been noticing that my gas mileage drops poorly in colder weather. For instance, the other day it was 48 degrees out and I was getting 27.5mpg. A couple days after I got 30.8mpg at 68 degrees. Interesting...

You know that the stock tire pressure for our 18's is 40 psi all around. I used to have them at 33 front/35 rear for aggressive driving but I didn't drive aggressive enough to waste gas so I'm back at 40.

Talking

Well it was 68 degrees outside, so I tested out the gas mileage.

in cold tempreatures where I am (chicago), 58mph seems to be the best speed to get the most mpg.
