Default Dual Popchargers - Power gain? Loss?

Placing an order tomorrow for an exhaust and intake. I've settled on the popchargers unless they can actually cause a loss in whp. If that's the case I'm just going to go with k&n drop ins. Haven't found any dynos to show what the popchargers can do. Can anyone comment on this?

your better off either getting drop ins or holding off till the new injen CAI comes out

+1. There's really no point, it doesn't increase your intake space at all, they do nothing, and you will experience a loss in torque when your car warms up.

Injen CAI. Wait.

I think I might hold off on the intake for now. I guess the Injen CAIs seem at least a little bit promising. Maybe after seeing some independant dyno's I'll be able to make a decision.

Any other word on the popchargers?

I find it interesting that people are still looking to buy intakes even though they provide no increased benefit to the car, and in some cases a slight loss. At this point we can say that an aftermarket intake is merely a cosmetic modification on the HR engine, ie. no longer a key component to freeing up horsepower like they are with other engines. So is everyone buying them merely for the sound or engine dress up, or in the hopes that something eventually will give and magically create that expected horsepower?

Agreed, though I suspect that by introducing a longer path with more turns, the gains will be minimal at best.

honestly i think everyone knows by now that intakes have no power gains on the HR... but i think deep down after spending 300-400$ they want to justify that there will be a slight gain...
i wanted it for the sound/looks so i got a dual fujita kit from a fellow member for 160.

op.. even if it had a 2hp gain/loss you would never feel it!!!! so it makes absolutely no difference, don't forget its not a crime to want them for esthetic's/sound but expect nothing more from it.

Knowing that the gain or loss is basically nothing, I do mostly want them for visual/sound. I think it's funny when people rip on others for wanting to spend 300-500 on an intake, meanwhile spending over a 1000 on a couple bumpers is making your car "look clean." With that said, despite the fact that the difference will be minimal, I find it more difficult to spend money knowing it's hurting performance, as opposed to helping, even if it's just a little bit.

is that really it for our engines? I have the stillen and after 5k rpms it sounds cool. that's about it. is our engine tuned good from the factory to where intakes and exhaust are a complete waste of money?

not the exhaust and test pipes. So far they have yielded the best results. Although, i did buy dual pop chargers and do not regret it, they are definitely not the bang for the buck. I do like in fact the sound of the engine, so this was what i was looking for. WHP-wise i knew i'd be disappointed. I am waiting on my ecu to arrive from technosquare soon(tomorrow), so i will see if the engine befits from the pops

Dunno about the power but the dual popchargers sound amazing in person.

I had the Nismo intakes but I felt a really bad loss in torque, so I went and got the pop chargers, when I drive it feels like if I had the stock intakes but the sounds is really nice.

They claim increased whp/wtq. But who doesn't?
