Nissan has standard operation procedures for all parts being installed on to a car. However its up to the technician to follow these procedures. The area manager is supposed to enforce the following of these procedures, but most slack off half of the time. On the O2 sensors and most other parts, they are just spot checked to make sure they are installed. Most technicians hate their jobs, so they will do their job what ever way is easiest to them, if that means not following procedures, then they will do it. As long as the parts are on the vehicle is all that matters to alot of them. However, its not as bad on the japanese made vehicles like the Z.
