UPDATE:

I finally got to spend a few minutes witht he new motor. Things are looking really good.
1. The DE intake manifold bolts right up with, no drama
2. The DE lower plenum clears the valve covers, no drama
3. The DE Idler pully bolts right up, no drama
4. The DE Tensioner bolts right up, no drama
5. The DE fuel rail bolts right up, no drama
6. The DE rear water pipe bolts right up, no drama
7. The DE high pressure water pipe bolts right up, no drama

Things that I need to pick up:
4 x cam position sensors
1 x crank pully
1 x low pressure water line that runs down the passenger side
1 x engine harness
1 x knock sensor + harness (I have one from the DE, dunno if it is the same)
1 x dip stick

This is almost too easy, the only thing that I question it hood clearance. I heard from a NNA rep that the HR block sits lower, but the hood bulge was due to the accesories, if that is true, this is too easy. By Using the DE water system I should not need the 07+ hood.

EDIT: No wonder it was so easy, I bought a revup motor (sight unseen, over the phone). Gonna get my money back now!

and twin hair dryers (OK brake duct blowers)

Either way at this point, I think I'll still do the swap to a rev up. It is more power, I've already bought it, and all of my crap will fit on it. I just need to change my shopping list a little, LOL.

So whats the difference from a rev up and a high rev?they both have higher redlines right? will the new hr fit in a 03-up 350z or not?

Hey so how do you identify it as a Rev-up, rather than an HR? my engine is supposed to be an 07, so I'd assume it's an HR, but how can one tell. it does have dual TB.

I was going to ask if anyone mentioned if your stock tranny would fit an HR too??

Dual TB = HR

 

The intake cam timing mechanisma are different, the water system is completely different, the accesories drive is completely different. I bought long black and it didn't have all fo the stuff that would normally be attached, as as I start adding my DE parts, it became very clear.

I think the tranny is the same, but a different flywheel

 

Okay, that makes sense, but your Rev-up has dual Tb's tho right?

Wouldn't happen to have an HR ECU around would ya?

VQ35 DE - single throttle body
VQ35 DE (revup) - single throttle body
VQ35 HR - twin throttle body

 

Sure don't. I was toying with the idea of dual 68mm TBs on a DE, but now I'm cooking on a 90mm Single Tb for the DE.

Yeah okay, so my engine is definitely a HR then. I have the dual TB's. Looking at things too, you can tell by the timing covers too. On the Revup and before the electrical plugs for the timing point in tward the center, and one is greenn, one blue. on the HR. the plugs on the covers are both blue and point outward. there's a lot of differences. here's a pict of my engine.



Note the intake is off and on the ground, but it is dual TB.

Definately an HR engine.

 

Lighting guy. I gave you a lot of respect and props for what you want to do. Just because it may be more cost effective to boost a rev up doesn't mean i will be the best for what you want. we all know a HR>rev up.

Please keep us posted with info and pics.
