Default Greddy E-Manage Ultimate

So I'm at my friend's shop getting a couple touch ups on my car, and we were discussing about the Technosquare reflash, I was interested in getting it done but then one of the tech's working there told me about the Greddy E-manage ultimate. It's basically a piggyback chip that adds on to your stock ECU, except.. you can mess with just about everything in the stock ECU, you can raise the RPM redline, take off the topspeed governor, mess with the air/fuel ratio, and even smooth out and fill in those tiny gaps that spike up and down in your powerband with a proper tuning. We we're discussing how it'd be better to get the E-Manage rather then spending 550$ and sending your ECU to get a reflash. And on top of that, everytime you get a new mod for your car, you'd have to get your ECU reflashed again, which is another 550$. I was thinking about it and all the tech's there agreed that- what the hell's the point of buying a reflash everytime you get a new mod on your car, if you can just buy the Greddy E-Manage Ultimate for roughly 700 and change, and you can mess with the air/fuel ratio whenever you get a new mod, or whenever you want to, All you'd have to do is get the proper program in your labtop, plug it in and go! You can tune your car for racing, drifting, or just daily driving. You could even mess with the ECU to get you the most gas mileage (I was laughing when I heard that from one of the tech's lol.) It's also alot more efficient when tuning with the e-manage then just the stock ecu, alot more easier and hassle-free. So I've decided that the Greddy E-Manage is the better choice, but this is just my friends's and my opinion.. I wanna know you guys think?

EU is a great piggyback system but you should research more about piggyback systems. Out of all the Piggybacks out there I think EU is the best I had EU when i first TTed my car the user interface is Amazing, its a breeze to tune with its data logging software a lot easier then utec in my opinion. I have utec now and it isnt as user friendly and doesn't provide many of the features EU did. The reason I sold mine is because for some reason it kept dropping injector duty signal, but Im sure that has been resolved by now. You should search on this forum for more info on the unit.

I'm not sure if they make a patch harness out yet for a HR ECU though.

i'm not positive on this, but i'm pretty sure there isn't a utec or emanage that is HR compatible. someone mentioned that they might be able to manipulate it to work or something. don't take my word though. and if what i'm thinking is true, supracrazy's response is useless.

Well GReddy has one in their HR TT car, now if that really is running the car i can't say for sure, either way they are using that as the tuning method for the production TT kit. So i would assume if the software update hasn't been released for the HR that it soon will be.

Greddy was supposed to be the 1st company to announce that they're making an HR kit, it's been almost 2 years and still no kit released from them.

We're only a month or two away from releasing HR support. Osiris 2.0 is shipping next week or so and will have end user tuning abilities. We outshine just about any piggy back system out there because of the fact that we run on the ECU itself so there is no trickery going on, no issues with change over. We also support up to 1300HP on the HR because of the twin MAF system they use, so Supercharged and Twin Turbo systems are fully supported with the same software, all you'll need is a boost controller like the Profec SpecB II or similar. Driveability is retained, efficiency is gained, install is simple as pressing OK, and the price is $900.

All you'll need to wait on is the HR support update, which has already begun.

Will do. Trust me we're working 14-16 hour days here trying to get all this stuff ready. The HR support is just going to be icing on the cake. 4 years of beating on cars and keyboards is finally coming to fruition, and you get to be the benefactors. Hopefully you'll like it as much as everyone does so far.

I have a Greddy EU on my turbocharged 2004 DE Z and I love it. The car runs so smooth that you woulda thought it came turbo'd from the factory.

There are superior systems out there like the FCON but the EU is at a fraction of the cost.

All of the capabilities that you listed, the UE can do very well and anyone can tune these things (and by anyone, I mean actual tuners- I never do my own work).

I picked mine up used with a MAP sensor for $400 and it is the best $400 I have ever spent as it helped the car run smoother and above all else, safer (I was detonating: too boost, not enough fuel, trimmed the timing).

I know you're talking about for an HR which is why I listed my car as a 2004 DE.

Point being that the EU's core capabilities and programming will essentially be the same but adapted for the HR's ECU.

Im sure he knows that, thats why he stated that he has a 04. He's just letting us know that the EU works good from his personal experience.

Exactly and that it should work well for the newer-generation Zs.

I wasn't speaking about the whole kit only the EMU. As far as the turbo kit, i think GTM is the only one that has an actual full kit ready to go w/ a few other shops offering in house custom installs. But thats not what this thread is about. As far as the other ECU mentioned here, any more info on this anywhere?
