How will the HR do in an 1/8th mile?
I was at a 1/8 drag near where I live, to see what types of cars go and how they do. There was some pretty quick classic cars; dusters, challengers, and chevy's. I also saw some of today's cars like SRT8 charger, 08 mustang gt's, evo's and things like that. I didn't see no G35's or 350z.
The 08 SRT8 charger ran 8.49 and the evos ran slightly slower and then the mustang gt's ran like 8.79-9.01's. I figured the reason for no 350z or G35's could have to do with the gearing not being very suitable for a 1/8.
anyone knows how a hr does in a 1/8 of a mile?
Also, what car has an advantage in 1/8 a 5AT or 6MT HR?

Well there's a 1/4 mile track in Fontana which is about 30 minutes away if there's no traffic. However any car running under 14 seconds requires a Snell 2000 helmet. I don't have one, so I wouldn't be allowed to race. Sucks, however at an 1/8 mile I'd be able to race without the helmet.
To be honest I'm a bit nervous, this would be my 1st drag race. The part that gets me is the fact of the 2 lanes surrounded by walls, the spectators, anticipation of the lights and the launch.

you guys with the auto should be ok. You should be pretty consistent. I couldn't do **** at the drag strip yesterday. I ran like 9.006 at 82mph with a good spin out at the start and a lot of wheel hop at 2nd gear. It's me, not the car.
1/2 as good as the 1/4 mile
Im Joking but I just couldn't resist. About not having a helmet, you should try and borrow one at the track. Look to see who in your area goes to the track and just ask if you can use it for a run or 2. If you get hooked and it's something you want to do more often then you go and buy one. A helmet wont break your bank if you decide you want to frequent the track to hang out.
