Default Whats your Opinions On The TurboXS CBE on the HR Z?

Hey guys I have the Berk High Flow Cats , that I recently just installed on my car , and it sounds amazing , and I can feel the power gains . Now I am looking to get a Cat Back Exhaust for my Z. I found the TurboXS Cat Back Exhaust for just 499.00 shipped. I mean for the price it seems very decent , but is there a reason why its so cheap right now . Whats your opinions on this cat back exhaust?

U might want to look at the bassani exhaust. I've heard some very good things about it sound and performance wise and it's 900 shipped or less. Right inbetween high end exhasut costing $1200 and the $500 turboxs.

No offense intended but you guys can't be serious. TurboXS is a well known company, and the reason their catback is so cheap is because they are clearing them out. That exhaust originally cost in the $900-1200 range, and still sell for that amount from "most" vendors that still carry it.

The quality is top notch, like all of TurboXS stuff. It was originally priced and marketed and built to compete with other big name brands. It simply makes power, 'nough said.

I can't believe how quick some of you are to label it as a "cheap" part simply because the price doesn't show it. What do you think you are buying when you buy an exhaust from HKS, or GReddy, etc... Stainless steel pipe is stainless steel pipe. No stainless steel exhaust has anywhere near 1500 dollars of material.

Blah blah R&D from company X or company Y, means it will perform blah blah. That's the ongoing argument and if you guys haven't been looking around in the other forums, check out this thread, post #41...

Guy used to work for an aftermarket exhaust company, and then later for Toyota for guess what.....exhaust component construction....check it out and become enlightened.

Agree that TXS is very well made. I did a before and after dyno and made 6whp with everything else in the car being stock including the cats. It also saved over 30lbs over oem. The sound is also low pitched and incredible. I have heard it with test pipes and it sounded like s**it. I need to hear it with berk hfc, because I was thinking of putting those on.

well i don't have good things to say about it. they have been clearing stock on this exhaust for over a year. i saw it going on ebay for 500 bucks with free shipping over a year ago. i beleive there was even a thread on it going for that price. i had txs test pipes and they broke 3 times. you can find something better. like a nice single.

I'm not specifically defending TurboXS, quite frankly, it simply doesn't appeal to my acoustic preference. As for the test pipe thing, I think that was a pretty broad problem for quite a few manufacturers. Also the Ebay link and the thread that was on the forum, was from the same vendor, MRC iirc. The only thing that irks me is people's conception that expensive means well made, and relatively less expensive, automatically means junk, especially when relating to non-mechanical parts.

I have it on my G and it sounds nasty ( in a good way but very, very loud though).

I have it. I love it...Good noticeable power gains. The welds on the muffler are ****, but all the other welds are good. The sound is awesome and IMHO very refined compared to deep sounding exhausts.
My dyno numbers with just TurboXS + Injen CAI's was 284.4 on dyno dynamics.

I got the berk's last week. Should be doing a pre-post dyno today or tomorrow with brand new k&n drop ins that i'll put in at the shop. Hopefully it doesn't sound like the one I heard with TP.
