Not sure if you want to throw a lot of money at the problem but as other posters have said, get a tune.

Also, how much do you figured you picked up with the test pipes? And is it raspy?

Members tried steel wool before and it still resulted in the same outcome, CEL after a few thousand miles.

ok this might be true, but im working on something more permanent to try. i need to get back to the hardware store and see what i can dig up. i agree about the steelwool. the only time i threw a cel with this fix was when i put my stock exhaust back on. but once i put my jic on and reset the ecu no problems since.

Bringin up old post rather than starting a new topic. Ive seen a few threads abt their HR's idle problem. Just last week, ive had a similar problem.

It started out when i was driving home. Bare in mind the road were wet as it rained when i was driving. Shifted gear while i was driving n felt a strange nudge. I thought i had a wheel spin since my tyre thread are almost gone so i continued driving. When i was a abt to reach home, i had to go through 4 humps (all humps i had to drive taking over the opposite road to avoid by sideskirts hitting those humps). Juz i was abt to climb 1 hump, my car's rpm started to act strange. It almost bogged down as if i wasnt doing proper control with my clutch n accelerator. As i was driving thru the other 3 humps, it did the same thing. My rpm went nuts going up n down.

The next day, started my Z and a few seconds the car died. The rpms didnt hold out like it normally does as if it was choking.

Took it to nissan and they are still figuring out wats going on. Any idea guys..?

well mine is with Berks TPs and did not throw any CEL lights. Just came back frm nissan nad they were still checking the electricals to find any faults. When they diagnosed it, a code came up. Wil try to get the code next time.

Just an update, nissan called me up n said they fixed the problem. They said my stock drop in air fliters was almost gone, had cracks on it and it kinda sucked debris along the intake tube and made my MAF sensors dirty right to my TBs. Will pick up the car later and update this thread again... I do miss my ride especially the raspy sound frm my TPs... btw check my thread out for its vids (sory to hijack a bit)...

Just an update, got my car yesterday and been driving it all nite to check if theres any bogging problems. The idle rpm seems normal now and theres no drop in my rpm durring driving. No CEL light.

This is what nissan did:
1) Diagnosed my Z and a code came up
2) Checked my wirings including the extra gadgets i installed (edfc, turbo timer, sound system)
3) Checked all the fuses in my Z for any burnt ones
4) Checked my filter and found the filter was totally gone and has broken bits
5) Proceeded to check my MAF sensor, found it was dirty and cleaned it up
6) Checked both TBs,found debris from the air filter and cleaned it up
7) Replaced the drop in airfilters with new ones
8) Reset the ecu
9) Diagnosed it again and no code pop up again
10) Called me up and had to pay $70 for the works ($US40+)

Driven the car last nite almost 90kms... hopefully it will not come back. Still gona drive it to check if the problem still persist. Will update this thread for others

Cheers,
D

Go get your codes read even if the SES light isn't on. Some of the codes such as the one i had P0327(low input knock sensor) does not trigger the light but is there when checked. I changed my knock sensor and my car does not bog anymore. All that lag under 3k is gone and my car feels soo much faster/smoother. I will have to check my MAF.
