Default Filter on Nismo Intake

I am trying to replace the filter on my nismo intake with a K&N universal filter. I am not sure of how the measurements work though, particularly the "height". Is it measured from the base of the filter, or is it from the bottom of the coupling? In any case, I think it is between these two:

RX-4960 2.75 in (70 mm) 6 in (152 mm) 5 in (127 mm) 5.5 in (140 mm) X-Stream 2 in (51 mm) 0 degrees 0 in (0 mm)
RX-4870 2.75 in (70 mm) 6 in (152 mm) 5 in (127 mm) 6.5 in (165 mm) X-Stream 2 in (51 mm) 0 degrees 0 in (0 mm)

My gut tells me its the 5.5, but I would like to get the 6.5 if it will fit.
Any help?

OK. Let me try this again. I do not know how K&N measures the height of their filters. Is it from the base of the coupling, or the base of the filter? I ask because the coupling doesn't actually take any excess space. I have also looked up the filter that comes with the intake, and they do not provide the detailed measurements. I know somebody out there has to have done this.

i've been looking around as well for a K&N filter for my Nismo intake. The people at AutoZone told me i could just use a "universal" one. But i'm not sure if i trust that option

You can use a universal filter, thats what I'm trying to do. You just need to know the measurements. I'll just play the return game until I get the right one. When I figure it out, I will post which one to get and the dimensions for it.
