Default High Idle when Car is Cold?

Hello, I searched and searched, but could not find anything... Is it normal for the car to idle at about 1700 upon start up... It typically only does it when the car is cold and returns to normal after a minute or two. Is this normal?

Any help would be appreciated, and if there is any more info needed, just ask!

Thanks!

I lol'd. It's simply heating up to operating temperature. You will notice that as the RPM's come back to normal, the temp. gauge will go up. It will high idle for a little bit even when it's only moderately cold.

It'll do it when it's been off for a few hours as well. It's operating temps are not what they are outside.

When are they sending the recall tickets out for this? Only HR engines affected? Or the DE's as well?
