Well the Revshift Intake Manifold, I already promised I would guinea pig that, that's coming along nicely. Now with these cams....i want them, don't get me wrong, I love NA motors, but it's just so expensive. Might as well do a build while the engine is torn down. This, plus the fact that I'm pretty broke makes the cams most likely not going to happen(unless I can find really cheap labor without my car blowing up which isn't likely)

Yea might as well put that money towards the ATS clutch. That plus the Greddy TT Tuner Kit and a few other goodies. That's my plan

I wish i could read japanese.

So which camset would give the most power for a full bolt-on NA HR along with reliability? Which lift, etc?

Anyone have a guess in power gains with these cams and a decent tune?

I'll be glad to test these cams out, just tell me where to buy them without having to translate japanese.

you don't need to read japanese, I posted a translated link as well

there is no "best", there are different specs, for different uses. Worth reading up on lift and duration in general senses of the words, and then taking that info, applying it to your intended use and overall plan, and making your selection

Just read the page on your site Z1. Do you or any other vendors out there sell aftermarket valve springs suitable for the 272 and/or the 280 lift's?

Also let me get this straight, the 264 lift's do not need aftermarket valve springs and the oem ones can be used. What are the specs for the oem cam's for VQ35HR's?

Also during installation, whether it be the 264, 272, or 280 lift's, you may or may not need to replace your lifters and the only way to know is during installation.

the 2xx number is the duration, not lift

the 10.x and 11.x are the lift values

okay.
The higher the lift, the greater amount of air that can be traveled through the intake / exhaust valves. Which is why valve springs are needed for higher durations (272 & 280) because of the higher lift and increased amount of traveling air.

This is like high school all over again

yes, better valve springs are mainly needed cause of the higher lift, i don't know of anyone that makes them for the hr (doesn't mean nobody does, i just don't know of anybody)

Found this on another site.

CVTC: Intake and Exhaust

Intake__Lift: 10.5mm
Exhaust_Lift: 10.5mm

Intake__Duration: 248º
Exhaust_Duration: 248º

Intake_Opens: 2º BTDC
Intake_Closes: 66º ABDC

Exhaust_Opens: 68º BBDC
Exhaust_Closes: 0º BTDC

Overlap: 2º

The intake cam has been advanced by 4º and the exhaust cam has been advanced by 2º.

The spark plug lised in the ESM is the Denso FXE22HR11

Same smaller valves as on the 2007 Altima.

Stiffer valve springs than the 'revup' engine. Strongest springs to date on any known production VQ engine. They might be the same as the Nismo springs.

113-127lbs @ 26.2mm (vs. 98-110lbs @26.2mm revup)

Edit: Also this nice pdf from JWT

Okay, so valve springs need to be upgraded because of the higher lift of aftermarket cams.

The tomei 264 Duration and 10.8mm lift cams will work without having aftermarket valve springs.

Okay, now what about the 272 Duration and 10.8mm lift cams? They have more duration, but they have the same lift. So couldn't I use the 272 / 10.8 cams without having to change oem valve springs?

if you actaully go through with doing this, you should discuss this with you engine builder and go with his recommendations.

that being said, if i were doing this, i'd do the valvesprings anyway since i have the head opened up already...

I agree with warmmilk while your head is open might as well do as much as you can to keep from reopening it
