Hi guys, before when I had the stock bumper, my Injen dual CAIs were safe from water hitting it directly from the front, but now that I got the amuse bumper, the space in the front is larger allowing for my filter to be exposed. What are my options to protecting my filters besides a hydro shield? I'm not even sure if a hydro shield will protect it well enough since it's naked in the front..

Do you really have to worry about that? The only way I can see an engine hydolock is if the CAI is so low that it gets immersed in a puddle. The CAI on my MX-6 sits about 5" from the ground with nothing covering it from spray and crap... I drive it all year around, rain, snow or shine. It has made it through the worst rain storms, I just have to religiously avoid large puddles but otherwise I am pretty worry free.
Your engine is able to pass rain/water through it. As the rain feeds in it just gets blown out through the exhaust, it's when you car sucks up a huge volume of water in short period of time that you are going to have a problem as there is too much water at once for the engine to exhaust.
If you are too worried about it get those water diversion valves the guy above is talking about.

Thanks, I'm not very knowledgeable about CAIs and hydro locking so I thought that any water substances (sprinkles, sprays, whatever) will hydro lock it. Thanks for the good informant Parker
