Default HR and DE Comparison

What are the main differences between the HR and DE motors? I was trying to find a stick where maybe the differences are laid out as I was searching maybe one should be added here.

The differences that I know off of the top of my head are a higher redline and extra HP. Not sure what else is different though.

I've owned both and I would never own another DE again after experiencing the difference. The HR is an amazing beautifully engineered engine. Hydrogen free diamond like coatings... and as if to show off how much better this engine is they put the oil dip stick right there in front, where it should be, instead of that stupid side dip stick on the DE

Here is a question, has anyone converted the HR heads to the DE block? To get the continous valve timing on the exhaust side?

Can we use the vq37 pistons/crank/rods in the DE motor anyone done that conversion. Maybe save money vs doing the stroker kits that are 5000+

Why not just get the stroker kits and skip just a little bit of the headaches with mixing and matching and getting something to control the cam timing at every rpm.

But if you think you are willing to put the time, money, and effort, i say GO FOR IT. To answer your question,I havent heard of anyone doing this.
Maybe someone else can elaborate....

Well I'm looking more at the NA side, not pushing 450whp+ on a stock block. Even an HR block.

Yeah I was just wondering if anyone had done a hybrid type build or if it has been tried.

I'm running a standalone right now, only issue would be getting the HR heads on the DE block however that would work heh. Have the capability to tune the cam timing on both ends right now.
