I guess from outwardly appearances it does look the same.

but the big(and cool)VTR symbol is certainly missing from the pics shown..making it certainly not the same engine. The turbo's are however from the same genre that Vinny was at PM.(2006 ProRWD spec)

I realize that this is a drag engine but, what's the power curve look like under 6K?

hey guys... alex from performance motorsports here... this is a build by our shop for the owner of Brams Racing in the UK.

HeadGames already answered most of the questions.

Although Performance Motorsports were the first to hit the VQ engine hard back in 2004 with a 6.63 @ 218mph making 1800+ hp, this new setup is completely NEW and DIFFERENT from the old one, done solely by Andrew Rubio.

video intro for everyone....

Cart needs wider rubber to put that amount of HP down.

Hey Alex, how are you?

Can you tell us about the built, a slight peek into the mighty VQ, so to speak?

BTW, remember the HRE 890R rims that were screwed up by a performance shop (damaged, missing parts, etc); it looks sweet now, thanks for your help with the offset specs.

Hi guys, its amazing to me how much power can be had by the VQ engine. My question is this - with all that power, how is it being used? For racing, drag, drifting, daily drivers, or is it the mine is bigger than yours thing? And how reliable are the engines once their hitting these big numbers? How often do they need to be rebuilt and/or are there certain parts that have to be replaced on a routine basis or after so many runs? My hats off to all the tuners out there hitting big numbers.........

Hey guys - great to see you all talking about our engine

Huge thank you to all at Performance Motorsport who have an absolutely amazing set up now - the engine dyno is a work of art

A big thankyou to Mark @ Abbey Motorsport (www.abbeymotorsport.co.uk) here in the Uk who flew out to map the engine & will fly out again in a few days time to really stretch the engine hard ie/ 40 - 50 lbs of boost

We plan to run the car here in the UK on the 19th & 20th June if all goes to plan & the weather is ok.

Quite a few changes have been made & we have 3 engines being produced with Performance Motorsport of which 2 will be ready in weeks not months.

We also have new bigger turbos being designed & produced by AET Turbos here in the Uk.

we will update our site when we have run the car & will post up some interesting dyno vids once we have run the car also.

Details here www.bramsracing.com or more up to date info here of both cars http://www.facebook.com/pages/Brams-Racing/277727849280

In terms of announcing any further BHP or torque figures i would prefer to wait until after we have run the car as do not want to tempt fate :-)

Thanks
John

Hi guys,

Fingers crossed she will be ready to run this weekend at the Summer Nationals

Need to get a handle on the car but hopefully she will give the V8's something to think about this weekend

Here's a little teaser of the engine on the dyno last week
