Default Primary O2 Sensor Replacement?

I think my primary O2 sensor is malfunctioning because I have the following codes P1168 (Closed loop bank 2) and P0051 (O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Low Bank 2 Sensor 1). Also the AFR & O2 sensor voltage cipher readings from bank 2 do not fluctuate at all (for example the AFR on Bank 2 reads 14.7 @ idle & at WOT). The dealer said that the O2 sensor will not read correctly without the stock cats . I think they were too lazy to change it.

Question to anyone who has replaced the upstream O2 sensor, how easy was it to remove the sensor? Did it come out easily or is there a chance I will strip the sensor or the bung while trying to replace it? I am asking because the secondary O2 sensors were seized inside the cats & getting replacements from the dealer took more than 2 weeks . Also I do not want to mess up the header. Thanks.
